Come and discover this former chateau caretaker's lodge now fully renovated into a modern and comfortable holiday house. Situated by the river on the road linking Liège and Verviers, the location is romantic and ... unusual! The accommodation is in the left wing and in the tower of the property in the photo. After crossing a bridge, you enter the house and immediately access the lounge and kitchen. The bedrooms are upstairs and access is via two staircases, one of which is a spiral staircase. Apart from the owners who live in the chateau a hundred metres away, you will have the place to yourself. Please note that the road and bridge may be used by the owners, but not that often. The town of Pepinster and its shops is 1 km away. Verviers is 6 km away, with its shops, restaurants and its Saturday morning market. There are numerous walks in the surrounding area, even on foot from the accommodation. The motorways to Spa and Malmedy on the one hand, and Eupen and Germany on the other, are 6 km away.
It is strictly forbidden to organise any student party, bachelor party or drinking party in this house

property is amazing! great location, patrick met us with lots of info, a guided tour and wine. unusual place to stay, decorated to a high standard. beds really comfy. cellar a little scary!! only thing lacking is a washing machine.

Amazing Place
A superb conversion of a gate house with access to acres of grounds to walk, but only 500m from civilisation. Quirky layout with different levels and a lovely separate lounge with a great fire. Plenty of parking. Would definately come again!

Normaal gesproken maak ik een woning eerst schoon als ik aankom maar dat was hier niet nodig. Zeer netjes en alles is aanwezig wat je nodig hebt. Je waant je weer even terug in de tijd met alle gemakken van nu. Enige nadeel is de weg en de treinbaan, en er komen toch nog geregeld auto’s onder de poort door van de andere bewoners die verderop wonen op het landgoed. Geniet van de prachtige natuur en deze unieke accommodatie!

uniek verblijf in het Land van Herve
Prachtig en uniek historisch verblijf in het Land van Herve, geschikt voor een koppel, twee koppels, enkele vrienden of een koppel met max. 2 kinderen. De mooie foto's op de boekingsites zijn zeker niet overdreven, de werkelijkheid is minstens even indrukwekkend. Ondanks de nabijheid van een grote autobaan en de spoorweg is het verblijf toch rustig gelegen en midden in de natuur. Naast alle faciliteiten in de kasteeltoren kan je uren gaan wandelen op het eigen privé-terrein. De Vesder stroomt letterlijk onder de ramen van het verblijf. Misschien wel de grootste troef in de woning is de afgescheiden 'aperitiefkamer' met gezellig haardvuur en mooi neogotisch kader. Via een rustig wandelpad afgescheiden van het drukke verkeer bereik je de dorpskern van Pepinster op 20 à 30 minuten, waar je tal van handelszaken, supermarkten en horeca terugvindt. De beheerder van het verblijf is uitermate behulpzaam en geeft een ruime uitleg over het domein en haar geschiedenis. Je krijgt een welkomstmandje met streekproducten dus dat is zeer attent ! Ik kan bijna alleen maar goede elementen aanhalen ... er wel rekening mee houden dat er veel steile trappen zijn en vooral voor de hoogste slaapkamer met wenteltrap moet je fysiek toch een beetje in orde zijn. Een gebrek aan efficiënte verduistering in een van de slaapkamers, een qua grootte bescheiden koelkast en het ontbreken van insectenhorren zouden een (klein) nadeel in de zomerperiode kunnen zijn. Sowieso is dit een uniek historisch verblijf met vele troeven, een aanrader dus !

Unieke locatie
Zeer Gastvrij onthaald. Huis is compleet van alle gemakken voorzien. Gelegen op particulier terrein, beschermd natuurgebied. Niet op loopafstand van voorzieningen. Overdag wat last gehad van geluiden van het spoor. ‘s Nachts heerlijk rustig geslapen in de torenkamer. Genoeg te zien en doen in de omgeving. Heerlijke week gehad!
