"we did late-check-in. but the way that pass the key was really irresponsible and NOT safe, I think. I didnt realize her contact & 24hour contact didn't work, so we took long time to check-in (Guimaraes might be a safe place, but...😥😫) Also "the reception opens at 10am" is too late. the price is really reasonable if guests don't do late-check-in. "

"The AC never got cold even on the lowest setting. On the main area there was a strong smell, like garbage and it was there for over a day even though they came to clean the room, no one bothered to empty the trash, the smell was so bad it came into our room. The hotel is in a good area, we felt safe but far from the touristy area and the walk to the train station was long, it was hard to get UBER there so we had to walk several times. "

"We had 2 rooms and they were both extremely clean and so picturesque. It was a rainy night and our room was a bit chilly but fortunately my son and his girlfriend in the other room prefer a cool room we used the extra blanket in their room and had a cozy sleep. The only less comfortable part was that there was only a single pillow per person and they were a bit small. The breakfast the next morning was amazing, with so much variety and homemade goodness."

In addition there was a lovely welcome gift of wine and pastries on the kitchen table when we arrived. "Great location. If you want to walk, this is the place to do it. Beautiful and historic. Very clean but bed very uncomfortable. We also had little or no service during our 8 night stay. We had to find clean sheets and towels midway through our stay and change our on linens. If you don’t mind doing this, you’ll be okay. If you want service during your stay this place won’t make you happy. But again, locates phenomenal!"

"This guy needs to communicate with guests better. I requested how to get in the day before, then twice the morning of my arrival. I didn't hear from him until 2:30 pm and check in was at 3. I was in Braga at that point and had to go wait in a cafe until I got his email. (It was raining) When I showed up at the place, a couple was outside trying to get in. Then later, after I returned around 8 pm, another couple was outside who couldn't get in. I let them in."
