About this space
Our charming, clean, and cozy cottage is all about ideal location. You will only be 7 miles (10 minute drive) from Pensacola Beach, 3 blocks North of our beautiful Bay, and within walking/bike/scooter ride distance from everything you could possibly want to do downtown. You also have your own private entrance and beautiful garden/patio area to enjoy the coastal breeze. Please go to YouTube to see our drone video we created. Make sure your closed caption is on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Te-Sw1cvL8
The space
The cottage is on the same property as the owner's residence but is a detached guest house on the back of the property. It is completely private as a privacy fence separates the cottage's pathway, entrance, and patio/garden area. The property and neighborhood are both quiet and safe. There are hens (no roosters), 1 outdoor cat, and 1 dog that live on the property but because the cottage is completely private there will be no interaction with them aside from likely hearing them or if you choose to open the blinds seeing them. The hens live directly behind the cottage's bedroom. There is a train that passes close by and a business across the street that has truck deliveries during standard business hours. If you are a light sleeper, we recommend using the ear plugs that are provided inside the nightstands and/or the professional white noise maker provided in the bedroom. The small yet comfortable size of 240 square feet makes it suitable for 1-2 guests only. The stand up shower is a bit larger than most as it was custom built. It should be noted the hot water heater is a 10 gallon tank so it is quite small but an amenity not noted elsewhere is that the water is on a whole home filtration system that is regularly maintained so you will have purified water in the shower and the sink. You will find that although small the cottage is very clean, comfortable, and quiet. You will sleep well, be able to relax/feel at home, and most importantly enjoy all that Pensacola has to offer. Our cottage is a safe space for all races, faiths, genders, gender expression, marital status, and sexual orientations. Diversity, equality, and inclusion is a value found here.
Guest access
You have full access to the private gate, walkway, entrance, and cottage space. There is a door located in the bedroom that is dead bolted and sealed which is not a usable door. It should be noted that there are a 2 steps up to get into the cottage and unfortunately the cottage does not meet ADA standards.
Other things to note
A luxury amenity of the cottage that is not mentioned elsewhere is that it is on a whole house back up generator so you never have to worry about power outages during your stay here.
There is a Publix Grocery Store, Walgreens, and Dollar General within walking distance from the cottage for anything you may need that is not provided. Also, for any beach supplies you may want there is a Walmart Market right across the 3 mile bridge that is a great place to grab those things.
Neighborhood Description:
The cottage is located in the historical East Hill neighborhood 3 blocks North of Pensacola Bay and within walking/scooter ride/biking distance of everything you could possibly want to do downtown. It is 0.3 miles away from Graffiti Bridge which is not only an iconic Pensacola Landmark but also a public boat/water vessel launch. The beautiful Pensacola Bay 3 mile Bridge is also right there next to Graffiti Bridge and the Welcome Center. You will really enjoy going for a walk or bike ride over the Pensacola Bay 3 mile Bridge as it has a seperated and dedicated Pedestrian/Bike lane on both sides. It is a 10 minute drive to Pensacola Beach. It is a couple minutes drive to get to the Interstate. Pensacola International Airport is an 11 minute drive. It truly is an ideal Pensacola location if you want to be close to everything that you will want to see/do while you are here. The neighborhood is very safe, quiet, and charming.
Getting around:
Parking at the cottage is free street parking. You need to follow normal street parking rules. If you go to the beach while here be cautious of parking on beach sand as you will get stuck unless you have 4 wheel drive. There is free public parking at Casino Beach just be aware if you are going to a big event you have to get there early as parking can get full. Same with downtown Pensacola. There is paid parking but parking can get challenging if you are going to a big event. We personally like to ride bikes as much as possible for getting around downtown. There are multiple places to rent electric or traditional bikes close to the cottage. You will also see Bird and Veo seated and/or standing scooter everywhere to rent via their app.
