Greystoke lies on the north east edge of the Lake District National Park in the Eden Valley and is 4 miles from the traditional market town of Penrith. There are delightful walks on the estate and cyclists will enjoy winding through the attractive villages and wild flower-laden country lanes. Ullswater, known as the most romantic lake, and the Keswick area with its spectacular high fells, are both within a 20-minute drive. A free outdoor heted swimming pool (season) and playing field can be found just a 5-minute walk away. This location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and those wishing to unwind in a beautiful, relaxing and peaceful setting. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

The house is very spacious and comfortable with everything one might need being provided.
The house is very spacious and comfortable with everything one might need being provided. It is near a pub and shop but the village is very quiet though with easy access to the Lakes. There are good walks nearby and quiet lanes perfect for cycling. Most importantly for us, dogs are made very welcome - our four had a wonderful time, as did their six adults. Beautiful house within grounds of Greystoke Castle. The owners Nevill and Moira really friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable . Large rooms .Well equipped. Clean. All bedrooms en-suite and option to have either double or twin beds is a real bonus. Dog friendly. Real fire. Very good location. Excellent village pub 50m away and only afew miles from Ullswater

9 of us arrived for our annual get together with 4 dogs.
9 of us arrived for our annual get together with 4 dogs. The owners could not have been more welcoming, even going to the effort of getting the logburner going on a cold afternoon. The house although big is very cozy and has the best equipped kitchen that I have ever seen in a rental. The beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding and the shower..... amazing!! We had the best weekend and cannot thank our hosts enough for being so friendly and accommodating. I am loathe to give this a good review because I really want to keep this gem as my little secret. We will definitely return.
