"The Lochaline Hotel is located in the tiny village of Lochaline, which is reached by a rather long drive on a single-track road. Although remote, the hotel rewards a stay with its peacefulness. It is located right on the sound. The ferry runs frequently to Mull and no reservation is needed. Our hosts were warmly welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the sound. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order."

"Suite was beautiful. One of the nicest we've stayed in Scotland. Self-serve breakfast and snacks in our suite were delicious, ample, and restocked. Loved it. A little out of the main part of town, but it takes seconds to drive and minutes to walk. "

"This is a wonderful hotel, great location to access everything on Iona, staff clearly enjoy working there, as nothing was too much trouble and shared lots of local knowledge and lovely warm hospitality. Really helpful to have concierge to help with bags up from the ferry. The hotel lounge is just as enjoyable as seeing the island as it looks across the water and so you can just breathe in the view. Food was high standard and lovely they have a kitchen garden so lots of fresh organic materials. Rooms spacious and beautiful decorated and dressed so it feels luxurious. Using lovely Scottish toiletries was a nice touch. I wished I could have stayed longer. "

"The property is a delight. It’s cosy clean and warm. Not many places offer a view of an ancient castle. Richard shows huge interest in how guests recycle. The compost bin meant all our food waste doesn’t go to land fill. It’s our second time staying in Castle Cottage and would not hesitate to recommend this gem of a place to stay. "

"Great place for accommodations in Tobermory. Property management had clear instructions on how to get in and how to work things in the apartment (eg. Pull out bed) plus lots of information on the island available. It was clean and ideally located on the Main Street with only about an 8 min walk to the buses at the car park. "
