Granted it was the only available and cheapest motel in town. Just stopping over on my way to Carlsbad. It's an oil-town with mostly oil workers living in the motels.
When I arrived the clerk wasn't there for 10-20 minutes, the guy was very friendly and professional after showing up. When I left in the morning a dude had been waiting longer to check in after a night shift.
The place was fine, but missing some basics like tissues and some toiletries. Broken chair, the door was hard to open and pretty loud; I could see there was friction tearing at the door frame, many of the satellite TV channels didn't load properly so channels were limited, the bluish task lights were a bit charring for lighting a room, and some other minor things I can't recall. It was ok for a night stop-over, but not good.
I liked that it had a fridge/freezer unit, the bed was decent, and internet worked well.
