The "Payson House" is spacious with magnificent, unobstructed views of trees and mountain surroundings from inside and out. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood. Relax on the porch swing and watch birds and hummingbirds fly by. The living room has comfy leather furniture with large windows to enjoy the view. The house features four bedrooms, two baths and sleeps 12-14 comfortably.
The Payson House is in a great location......in Payson! Just 2 miles off of the Beeline Hwy(87), so you'll be close to town for all your shopping needs, from grocery stores, restaurants, theater. park and Mazatzal Casino. If you just want to kick back and relax or take on the great outdoors, the Payson House offers both.
Incredible hiking area just 5 minutes away with easy to intermediate hiking, with trails that lead to the top of the mountain range that you can see from our viewing deck....beautiful! (Bring your binoculars!) Superb Mountain Biking just minutes away as well!
Lounge in the 'Little Forest area" down below the main house where you will find a fire pit and benches for casual conversation or for a larger group. Pitch a tent(s) and view the stars at night while eating a delicious s'more. There is a CORNHOLE game. We also have a Pool Table and a Ping Pong table!
WE ARE PET FRIENDLY! Outside our back door is a great area to walk your pets. Plenty of places for hiking for you and your dog(s).
If you like to fish, many lakes are to be found on the Mogollon Rim. You are only 40 minutes from Roosevelt Lake which is known for fantastic bass fishing. The East Verde River is only 20 minutes away and is stocked on a weekly basis during fishing season. The owner usually gets his limit almost every outing. Woods Canyon lake is also great for fishing and kayaking, etc. We are just forty minutes away from Kohls Ranch, which offers horseback riding and fishing on Tonto Creek. Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery is a must see! The Natural Bridge is just 15 minutes away.


ATTENTION- this vacation home is located in a quiet family-oriented neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental policy includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy, and parties. Evictions and forfeitures of deposit for any violations of said policies are strictly enforced. Family Getaway
After a canceled softball tournament we still made the trip and enjoyed the company of family. Even thought weather had us inside most of the time there was plenty to keep us busy. Once the sun came out we were close to parks and made less then 15 min trip to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park.

We spent a long weekend with friend/family in Payson hiking and fishing while escaping the Phoenix heat. Loved the property including the view off the deck, fire pit and ping pong / pool table!

Beautiful setting close to town. Nice quiet neighborhood.
We stayed a month. House can easily accommodate visiting family and friends. It’s well stocked with sports equipment, puzzles, games, even a high chair. Close to many trailheads and creeks for fishing. It’s really beautiful country!

Great escape away from Phoenix heat!
We had a fantastic stay in Payson. The house had everything possible to make our stay relaxing. The view is great and kids had fun with ping pong table. Hershee, my golden doodle loved the closed in porch and enjoyed going for walks by the house.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was comfortable and quiet and was a great fit for our two families. The ping pong table and pool table were big hits in the evening. Communication with the owner was very easy and we would recommend renting this property.

Loved the location. Beautiful neighborhood and the house was so big to accommodate my family who met there from Texas. Only the tiny red ants in the kitchen bothered those of us with OCD. Lol

My husband and I took our adult children and one grandbaby for our belated Xmas vacation. It was a nice, fun, relaxing weekend. We took walks, played the pool/ cornhole/ping-pong that was offered. Enjoyed a couple of nights out by the fire pit after the snow melted back.

What a great experience!
We went up hoping to catch some snow and got there just before and left just after it arrived. The property was well heated, and the snowy view was amazing. The owners offer great amenities, the bedrooms offered lots of sleeping options, and the pool table was a blast. The walking trails were great for the dogs, who really enjoyed the wrap-around deck. Any questions we had were quickly answered and the available wood was a lifesaver when we didn't want to drive in the snow. Thanks!

Great location!
We enjoyed our brief stay at the Payson House. It's a large home with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom downstairs. There is a TV in one of the bedrooms downstairs only. This property has a great fire pit, for those that aren't steady on their feet, beware of going up and down stairs on gravel. It was a pleasure staying here and will definitely return!

Relaxing Escape
This is a great cabin with a beautiful deck and view. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen items, linens and bedding, puzzles and games, etc. with the ping-pong table, the two large screen TV’s, the fire pit, the horse shoes, and hiking nearby there was always something to do. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The cabin is nicely situated as it’s close to shopping and yet it feels like it’s at the edge of the neighborhood leading right into the forest. I would definitely come back and would recommend this cabin.

Very nice older home in quiet neighborhood
This is a very well-maintained older home. Excellent covered deck recently upgraded with special decking and with nice views as in photo - a nice place to relax when it rains. Bathroom showers have been updated nicely. The beds are comfortable. The AC appears to be new and worked well. The fire pit area is spacious, and firewood is available - great area to relax. It's close to the edge of town which provides an open view and secluded feeling toward the south. Overall, a good value.

It was a very comfortable home. The deck off the back was lovely. The fire pit area below the deck was really nice. Kitchen could be updated a bit. Had some unique appliances, but they did all work. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Doug, our host, was really great to work with. He always responded quickly to all our inquiries.

Love this vacation home!! It was super clean upon arrival and the views are amazing!! There is a ping pong table, pool table, horseshoes/pit, and a barbeque outside. If you want to relax after a leisurely day of beautiful hiking, there are movie apps and streaming capability on the big television in the living room. You can also relax with a warm fire by the fireplace in the living room. The grocery store is about 2 miles from the house and there are a bunch of good restaurants to sample. We come to this amazing home at least once a year... and it is always a good experience. Thanks to you both.... John and Cyndi

Nice family home
We stayed in Doug & Patricia’s family home for our family’s spring break with children ranging in age from 5-12 years old. In total there were 7 of us. Pros: Lovely view, nice back porch. Close to town. Pool table/ping pong. Well stocked kitchen! Ample sleeping arrangements & comfortable bedding. Large family table for dining. Kids games/legos for entertainment. Little updates throughout the home have made it feel very welcoming & inviting. Cons Hosts seemed confused regarding our arrival date initially. House was very cold on arrival and set at 55 degrees. Took awhile to heat up and max temp is set at 69 degrees. Non-functioning bath tub made it difficult to give our twin 5 year olds a bath. No dishwasher.
