I’ve stayed here before, and were expecting the same quality of service and amenities for the second visit, but this was not the case. When we arrived, we were asked to wait “a few minutes” while the concierge tried to find the keys? I’m not sure what they were doing, but we waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes. We were then escorted to a room that had black soot on the ceiling from the chimnea, and the heater didn’t work. We were immediately told that it wasn’t our room, and that our actual room was not ready. We were hoping we would be able to sit in the hotel’s hot tub (which costs 600 pesos additional, by the way), but by the time we were shown to our room, it was very late. It took about an hour before we were even able to access our room. Once there, we noticed there were cable connections, but no tv. There was no hot water. The concierge said he would be right back with the key, but never arrived. The bed was rock hard, but we expected that. When we told the day concierge that our visit was not satisfactory, he just stared blankly. I also sent a message to the hotel manager, to which I’ve yet to see a response. This could be a nice place if they actually offered what they advertised, but they couldn’t manage it. I visit Pátzcuaro often, but I won’t be staying here again.
