The Loft Seaside hotel is, as the name suggests, on a pier directly overlooking the beach. There are several restaurants around and a short boardwalk for guests to enjoy. My room had a balcony too, right over the water.
The two girls at reception were helpful and check-in was efficient. As usual I had prepaid, which eliminates any surprises on arrival at a particular property. It was a good thing I did as I was asked for a THB 500.00 room keyand then discovered that the hotel does not accept credit or debit cards, only cash! Wow!
The hotel seems to accommodate quite a few young people, which means that it is vibrant.
A nice touch would have been to activate the air-conditioner before I checked in as the room was like a sauna and it took quite a while for the temperature to drop sufficiently to be comfortable.
I found the room rather dark. This was in part due to insufficient lights and partly because one ceiling light did not work. However, the room as clean and there were enough towels provided, so that is most important.
The toilet had a Japanese-style electronic bidet which sprays, warms and does all manner of pleasurable things. Actually, I heard a lot of Japanese language spoken and there is a Japanese college next door, so there is clearly an influence.
A small fridge in the room contained four complimentary bottles of mineral water, which is a pleasant touch, especially in such a hot and humid environment. What would have been nice too, is a box of t
