A ruined holiday
This was by far the worst experience I’ve had traveling and I am a full time traveler. It was mostly the fault of Hotels.com so I cannot fully blame the hotel. Yet the hotel did not have WiFi like was promised so we were not able to do our jobs (teach English online), they only cleaned our room after we asked multiple times and it was only cleaned twice. There was no mugs or spoons and only a sheet on the bed I asked twice about getting an actual blanket. We were switched rooms after we were settled in the first night because they accidentally put us in too big of a room somehow. When we complained about the WiFi the staff laughed at us. We had to spend a lot of money on hotspots for our phones to get work done. The door was broken on our room and we had to leave the balcony door unlocked so staff could crawl in the window and let us in. It made us nervous leaving our stuff inside. We were supposed to be at a nice resort booked through hotels.com with the guaranteed booking being a lie because when we got there the owner tried to extort us for more money then after five hours on the phone we were finally put here and this is no where near a resort. Our holiday was ruined. Definitely will never use this site again and make sure all of my nomad friends know about the experience because we were provided with no apologies and nothing to make this right.
