Rustic Adventure w/ Historic Log Cabin / Forest Views / 20 minutes from

Rustic Elegance w/ Historic Log Cabin / Forest Views / 20 minutes from Flagstaff
Located in the cool pines of Northern Arizona, we are near the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon Railway, Bearizona, Sedona, Oak Creek, Montezuma's Castle & Cliff Castle Casino. The Petrified Forest & Painted desert are about a 2 hour drive.

This lovely place is ideal for family retreats, a couple's romantic week-end or a family escapade.

Our cabins are about 100 years old with plenty of rustic character. We can offer a soothing atmosphere not provided in the city limits. We are in Parks, Az. which is 1/2 way between Flagstaff & Williams. Quite often, we see elk in the early evening during the summer, so we walk quietly & watch them. You will be in awe looking at the clear night skies, the scent of fresh air, & the far away sound of frogs in a pond. So many things the busy city hotels can't offer or sell. Please take time to hear the sound of silence on a clear moonlit sky.
About the Bunk House:
You will enjoy this quiet, peaceful old shot gun cabin that we call 'The Bunk House.' Built in the early 1900's out of railroad tiles milled in Flagstaff, it is now a refreshing escape from today's fast pace. While making it comfortable for our guests, we have also preserved the rugged atmosphere. A stay in this rustic old cabin is a great way to enhance your Arizona experience. It will take you back in time. Please note that there are five beautiful cabins on site that are different sizes. All are unique and beautiful. This provides the perfect opportunity to bring families and friends together for reunions or other events.

This is a No-Smoking cabin.

Pets are considered, however we asked that you keep "4 on the floor" as we say in our house. Pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding. Also, please pick up after them outside. We usually allow one small to medium size dog. No vicious breeds. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. There is a $50 pet fee.

Peaceful & Cozy!
We enjoyed our stay. The bunkhouse is perfect with all the amenities. No stove/oven but plenty of other options to cook. Toaster oven, crockpot, 2 burner cooktop, microwave and a gas grill. We had bonfires in the evening. Great way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Restaurant & convenient store within walking distance. Loved the location. Quiet, woodsy setting but close to towns with entertainment & shopping. We especially liked Willams. Thank you for the accommodations! Very memorable trip!

The property was as listed except for one thing. There is no stove. Otherwise, everything was great. Also having store/cafe near by was invaluable.

Rustic
We enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. It was close to everything we wanted to see: Historical Route 66 Downtown, Riodan Mansion & Museums, etc. Only negative I can think of - is if you have a large family or quite a few children at mealtime- the lack of a kitchen stove might prove somewhat stressful.

Great get away
Starting out, I made a mistake on my booking. I started it a day later than I planned. We arrived And luckily it wasn't book. They were very accommodating and changed my dates. The place was wonderful and a great getaway. We only live a little over an hour away, but it was wonderful.. Highly recommended

Enjoyable. Make sure to use separate plugs for kitchen appliances. Roomy, easy. Nice fireplace. Rustic. Not the standard place but a worthwhile visit in the pines. Easy freeway access. Not for picky people but a good fit for casual folks. Thanks.

Kitchen cupboards and bedrooms
I did feel uncomfortable using the dishes and utensils without washing them first. I recommend when advertising your 2 bedroom, that you mention one room has a bunkbed. We are 4 Senior adults, so this would have made a difference in my booking. We love camping, so we adapted to this rustic cabin. I read prior reviews so I brought my Colman stove. Thank you for the info

Needs improvement and some additions and changes.
The Bunkhouse was depicted as described "quaint and rustic" which was what we were expecting. We however were not expecting to not have any shampoo, conditioner nor lotion which is provided for most VRBO places. We also could have used a screen door to be able to open the door and let fresh air in and possibly wifi which was not available. There were no extra pillows or blankets which are usually present for VRBO places. My biggest concern and the reason we did not cook the food we brought was that there were mice or rats that came out at night and pooped on the counters and got into our food on the counters. We ate out the whole time and wasted our food that we brought as the fridge was not large enough to keep the food fresh that we brought and to keep it from the vermin. The beds were comfy however the bathroom shower curtain was a mess as it would not stay up without alot of working on it which we did. All of that should been checked before you charge the prices you do for that little place. The couch is comfortable but it caused one of us to fall off of it due to the cushions not fitting well into the couch and hanging over so when you lay on it and barely lean over, it causes you to fall off onto the floor. I do not like to give negative reviews but there were, for the price we paid, some definite things missing or wrong. Mice No extra blankets or pillows No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. No screen on the front door. No wifi. I hope this helps for your future tenants.

Items we noticed that need your attention.
Overall the property was really nice. The only suggestions I have to make your vacation get away better would be, have a plunger in building that works, repair constantly dripping kitchen faucet, it's time for new silverware, add a screen door so you can get some air flow through the cabin and have someway to get wifi. We could not on line or cable tv, Netflix etc.

Meh
I recently stayed over the weekend for a dog show in Williams. The freeway exit was closed requiring travel out of the way, no way the owners can influence this, but it added to the annoyances. The place is located nicely between Williams and Flagstaff making it a great jumping off point for N Az travels. However, the place is. NOT meant for spending time in. It’s a place to sleep, that’s pretty much it. There is no stove, small refrigerator and if the propane gets used up while you are using the grill, you need to refill the tank yourself and submit a receipt for reimbursement. All this was advertised. Traveling with a performance dog is tough to try and find dog friendly restaurants, shops etc. so I opted to try and spend time in the cabin to limit the time my dog was crated and stressed. The couch is so uncomfortable! There’s no coffee table or foot ottomans and the “cute” chairs are more for looks, not for comfortable lounging. The satellite TV required frequent restarts. It was stormy and power went out once and I could not locate flashlights or candles. The coffee maker leaked EVERYWHERE! If you have long hair, use the kitchen sink to wash your hair, the shower head just barely spits on you and it’s tough to rinse soap let alone a lot of shampoo. The bathroom floors are nicely tiled in a slick pretty polished flagstone. Great to look at, hella hard to slip on getting out of the shower with no floor mat. No counter top space next to the bathroom sink. The whole place needs a tune up. It smells old, could use some paint, and a good cleaning. The property is shared with 3-4 cabins and it’s located off a busy road. It’s a good location for anchoring travel, just not for spending too much time in. I paid for Sunday night and ended up leaving at 1pm to drive home because I would rather lose the money and sleep in my own bed. I called to leave a message saying I was checking out early, never heard from the property management company. I wrote up a similar review to the property managers survey and no response regarding the poor conditions of the cabin. Nit picking? Maybe. My mom operates VRBO homes and I know what people look for, clean, safe, quiet and comfortable. This was not it.

Five stars all the way!
We had such a great stay in the Bunk House! It was so well maintained and cozy. Everything was in excellent working order and the location was great- close enough to head down to historic Williams but we felt like we were out in nature- and the convenience/restaurant just around the corner was so handy! We would highly recommend this rental!!

Disappointed. Expensivenight at this place does not get you a stove or a shower head.
Our dog found bugs, dirty kleenex and an empty plastic bottle under the couch- and we paid a Cleaning fee! Rustic is fine, just not for This price. there is no stove, just a hot plate and microwave. Dorm frig. If you are a big guy, you are going to have a challenge fitting your knees into the toilet area.the best I can say is that the tv is a nice one and the mattress is decent.
