Pardubice became a town sometime around 1340. Back then it was owned by the Lords of Pardubice, the most prominent figure of the line being Arnošt of Pardubice, the first Archbishop of Prague, advisor and friend to Emperor Charles IV, a distinguished European personality of that time. "If you like places out in the sticks like me, this is for you. It is basically 3 miles from Hradec Kralove station at the edge of a village pretty much in farmland. The room was excellent, the breakfast was excellent, especially the scambled eggs, and the staff were friendly. Being out of season the place was pretty much empty."

Best hotel in Kolin

"A very nice traditional hotel. Rooms were clean and nice size. There is limited parking in front of hotel and parking on the adjacent street. Staff were courteous and attentive to service. A Kolin resident told me we were staying in the best hotel in Kolin. We were very satisifed with everything. Breakfast, included, was well appointed. Internet WIFI in the room worked perfect."
