"We have no regrets staying at the Alunan Resort. The food was fantastic and al-a-carte. Usually All-inclusive is buffet service. The Staff were extremely friendly and hated to say goodbye. The excursions were amazing, Snorkeling and Sunset Cruising our favorites. Our only caution is you must consider the stairs. There are a lot of them. Would definitely return."

"The beach where hotel is situated is the best beach on the island, and overal the hotel is better than I expected from reviews. Where things got really bad for me is: 1. No wifi and no reception (4G / 5G) coverage from my sim card in the room. I could not do anything in my room, had to go to the reception / restaurant area every time I needed to check anything. 2. Food in the restaurant was just horrible. I could not understand how a location in Malaysia could possibly make things like fried rice or noodles completely uneadible. It wouldn't even require extra costs to improve the food, just the bare minimal amount of effort and care"

"The hotel is in need of a renovation. The first day we stayed we got food poisoning, there are no other dining options that looked enticing nearby so we were forced to eat all our meals at the hotel and it is the worst food I have eaten on this trip. The towels are old and rough, everything is dated and although the team are nice, it cannot make up for the experience. The kids room is dark and dingy, the table tennis rackets etc are falling apart, the hand soap dispensers are broken etc etc "

"Dirty hotel, the matress was very old and the room was very dirty. Seems that wasn't cleaned before the arrival. It's sad because it has the best spot on the beach. If the hotel changes and take care of the costumers it will be top but sadly, not now"

"As a family with children aged 10 and 12, we absolutely loved this resort. The pool was invaluable to be able to have time for ourselves to relax as well as the children. Buffet was great and the manager was amazing. Our children loved watching the baby reef sharks swimming next to the jetty out the front of the resort. Would highly recommend to both couples, individuals or families as they offer something for everyone. "

"Location and guest service were amazing. Staff is very friendly and approachable however the building itself requires some improvements like paintings, renovations and bathroom upgrade. There are loads of minor jobs that could be done in one day sp bungalows wpuld look much better. I would invest more money to create executive suits fpr higjer standards."

"Wowza! This was one of the best 5 day asian island resort experiences we've had on our travels. The resort has gone through a full refurbishment in the last couple of years, so we were delighted to see that most of the negative feedback has been listened too and actioned. Do not hesitate to book. All the staff - reception, restaurant, cleaners, concierge, footmen and management - are so friendly, helpful and enjoy a sense of fun, whilst all being totally professional. Our room was clean fresh with clean linens and towels. Sometime it takes an issue to truely rate an experience and we were absoultely blown away at the attentiveness and resolution. It turned our experience from 5 star to 6 star. We will definitely be back!!!"
