"The location and price are amazing. The food can be better. The hotel is more beautiful than the pictures. If a little renovations/upgrading of the rooms are done will match the 5 star resorts. Staff is incredible. Over roll, I will recommend this hotel for anyone."

"Highly recommend this hidden GEM right on Nungwi beach hidden along with the other many hotel that are much more expensive and less personable. We easiley booked EXPEDIA all inclusive with airfare and breakfast, however they also have packages with other meal times. Their customer service when communicating or asking questions by email or WhatsApp was great. They have rooms on the ground floor and up 3 stories with beautiful views of the ocean or the gardens. Aprox. 60 min from Zanzibars internationl airport this hotel named Double A Nungwi Beach is gated and secure. You are greeted with smiling faces, cool hand towels that is refreshing, and handed a glass of tasted hibiscus juice. Ready for hotel tour and then shown to our room. Clean and always has hot water. Lovely decorated and the bed is displaying the beauty of their gardens. Astonishing views from the bar and restaurant and pool area. Inclusive breakfast was very good, with mutliple options to pick from. Eggs any way, waffels, freshly melt in your mouth warm donuts and pastries. Fruit, cheese and everything else breaksfast. The menu for lunch and dinner is expansive and you can tell Chef Rashid puts his passion into all of his meals he prepares. Food flavour is big for us and the way he prepared all of our dishes was palatable for a king and queen. There are also indian and vegetarian options. We felt very special with each bite we took. "Low rise buildings (mostly ‘bungalows’) set in colourful, well tended gardens within the owners grounds, with direct and wide access to a beautiful beach. The owners treat visitors almost as their personal guests (in a non invasive friendly way) The manager Margaret speaks good English and could not be more helpful or friendly. The staff team too are friendly and efficient. Flame tree cottages has a well kept swimming pool and beach bar serving a good variety of drinks and food, not as ‘exciting’ as some other local restaurants but with good portions. There are kayaks on offer and Flame tree have their own dhow boat offering reasonably priced & sometimes private excursions (guests can just say where they want to go, or ask for recommendations). Breakfasts are plentiful & special diets are catered for, served on the terraces outside each bungalow. Flame tree cottages is in a convenient location within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafes, a turtle sanctuary, local housing etc. It’s an oasis of calm within quite a busy & interesting community with the added advantage of being directly on a beach with glorious sunsets. "

Many locals will approach you daily to try to sell you things -no hot water in the shower -occasional power outages, but only lasts a few minutes "

"Wonderful hotel, nice stuff very good food. There is no alcohol served in the property you still can get it in a nearby beach bar. The beachfront villas are wonderful, We didn't like the constant hassling of vendors that came by the border of the property, but the hotel security guard was always there. Every afternoon the. beachfront was full of local youngsters playing soccer, what blocked your access to the beach. Overall highly recommend it, great place to rest and observe the local village life in the meantime."
