A beautiful 1400 sq ft 2 story home. 5 minute walk to the ocean. 1.5 miles to black sand beach. Comfortable and clean with OCEAN VIEWS from many rooms and the covered lanai. unlimited fast Internet - ATT Cell Phone reception - streaming Netflix on a big screen TV, GAS BBQ. The large covered outside Lanai with Ocean View, is great for outdoor dining, relaxing and taking in nature. Fully equipped kitchen. Tile and wood floors, Koa and Bamboo wood furniture. Large bathroom with separate toilet room for privacy. The home has an upstairs and a downstairs bedroom, both with very comfortable queen beds. We supply all paper products and soaps, linens and towels. Attention is given to all the details of housekeeping so our guests have a clean and inviting home to stay in.
Set on 3 acres of landscaped property with mature fruit trees that you can eat from when in season. The short walk down our private driveway to the ocean is great for morning sun rises and amazing coastal views. we are across from some of the most beautiful and undeveloped coastline in Hawaii.


With miles of State property, ideal for walking and exploring or just taking in unspoiled ocean views. A great place to explore, Turtles and dolphins are often seen from here. You can walk or drive to KEHENA BLACK SAND BEACH about 1.5 miles from us.

Beautiful Secluded Property
Just what we were looking for after a few days on the west side of the island. Sue & Chad have an amazing gem of a property and the hard work they put in shows. Everything was labeled well and guidelines were simple and easy to follow. The area is more secluded than some other areas but we lived it and still found Vilcanoes NP and Hilo attractions easy to reach. Sue was a friendly host and made us feel welcome!

Perfect stay
Sue and Chad were wonderful hosts, the house is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and well situated. The grounds are gorgeous, and it was fun getting a tour of them. Everything you could possibly need or want was provided, I would definitely stay there again.

A beautiful place to relax
I had such a peaceful and wonderful stay. I loved all the fresh air that blew freely throughout the home as well as all the natural light. I felt very safe as I was travelling as a single gal. The owners Chad and Sue were absolutely wonderful and brought me fresh oranges to juice! The home was very clean and comfortable. I didn’t even miss my bed! The bed was very comfortable. I am already planning my return. Being surrounded every day by beautiful nature gave me inner peace. If you’re looking to relax in a magical place, this is it!

Beautiful stay in paradise
Peaceful, lovely, well maintained property. Location on quieter side of the island. We were very comfortable, and enjoyed meeting and talking to Sue and Chad. The property has so many lovely trees and flowers. The house itself is quite large and roomy for 2 people, we each had our own room. Its a wonderful place to just chill out. I would stay again in a heartbeat, and hope to return someday!

Very Special Property
This is a special, secluded property in a beautiful neighborhood across from the ocean. It really is a beautiful, unique property. There is some additional care that must be taken to stay due to its remote location (e.g., limiting power consumption), but those very minor concessions are absolutely worth it. It's absolutely gorgeous.

The pictures just don't do this house justice! It's absolutely breathtaking!! The owners are so friendly and helpful, there's multiple resources available at the house for food, activities, etc. If we are ever back on the BI, we would absolutely stay here again!!

Secluded, beautiful, and lots of room!!
Property is away from everybody. Botanical gardens-more flowers and plants than in a professional Botanical garden. House had lots of room, bathroom was huge with shower surface none slip. Windows wide open catching the breeze. Great place to call home base for touring the island or great for sitting around reading a book.

Ultimate Paradise
Kamani Grove is the epitome of a Hawaiian Paradise. The hosts, Sue and Chad are wonderful and have taken care of every detail to ensure a comfortable stay. Absolute Paradise
This home might actually be heaven on earth. It’s a nature lovers paradise! Chad and Sue are the kindest people and have created a beautiful place to stay. Being able to fall asleep listening to the coqui frogs and waves crashing was incredible. Home was very clean and extremely comfortable, we found ourselves constantly saying “wanna head back to the house?” because it was so peaceful there. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Beautiful Hawaiian Getaway
Great experience staying at this property, with it's beautiful botanical scenery and location directly across from the coast. Hosts, Sue and Chad, were very gracious. Having them located on the property to assist if needed was a welcome bonus. House and property were clean, neat and had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. The location across from the coast was our favorite, the ocean cliff view from the bench was breathtaking. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Tropical paradise
Our stay here was absolutely fantastic. Sue sent lots of information ahead of time to prepare us for our stay which was very helpful. The house is a ways out from the nearest grocery store, but the trade off is well worth it. The home is a good size for our family of 4, and the property is just like paradise. They are completely on solar, so there are some rules around appliances that are easy to follow. The birds are loud at night, so if you're a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. My only regret is we didn't stay longer.

Magical Place
This property is exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful surroundings, quiet, very well maintained and provisioned, including some local fruit waiting for us on our arrival. We spent an entire day just hanging out on the property. Location is on the quiet side of Hawaii, away from people as well as stores or restaurants, so plan accordingly. This was just what we needed - our favorite place to visit on the big island! We will definitely be back. Thanks, Sue and Chad!

Paradise Within a Paradise
Thank you Chad and Sue for opening up your dream home to share with us again! Want a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life? Botanical Paradise
Sue and Chad's place was a relaxing quiet place in a botanical paradise. Fresh pineapple along with avacodos and other fruit were just a topping on our farmer's market purchases. We enjoyed the setting and adapted to the location on the bottom of the Big Island. A short walk down the drive and across the road is beautiful place to watch ocean waves crashing on the shore. Chad and Sue were perfect hosts! So friendly and available!!

Amazing Experience
This property is amazing!!! Driving up to the house feels like you are staying on a resort property. The landscape is beautiful! I loved the peeps frogs at night, the beautiful stars, and the total darkness. The bed was very comfortable and everything and then extras were supplied. Sue was very communicative and made us feel like welcomed guests! She left us fresh avocados and lemons from their fruit trees. We had a wonderful time and loved our stay here!

Peaceful location
The house sits on beautiful property surrounded by various flowers and fruit trees. About 6 min walk to the ocean to enjoy sunrises. Ocean is also visible from front porch or upstairs living room. The place has all you need to cook meals. It’s very quiet location , no immediate neighbors. There is a nice coffee shop near by. Truly beautiful, amazing and peaceful place. We were two friends, but the place is well suited for a family. Hosts Sue and Chad were welcoming and made sure we felt comfortable. Highly recommend .

Slice of Paradise
Expectations exceeded. What a treat. We have stayed in nearby Pahoa before but this time we wanted to stay off of the beaten path, in areas we had explored. This secluded property is truly a tropical paradise. The hosts, Sue and Chad, were wonderful. They provided fresh fruit from the property and took our grandchildren on a tour. The home has all of the necessities and is clean and comfortable. If you're looking for an escape, this is the place!

Paradise Found
Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our brief 3 night visit at Kamani Grove. So much aloha is this spacious, comfortable & well appointed 2 story house. Chad & Sue, the most gracious hosts, have lovingly created for decades a botanical oasis filled with flora & fauna delights. Chad made sure there is super fast wifi (for those that need it). The walk down the ‘dnveway’ to the coast is delightful. The location is a short drive to many places of interest but also a bit remote, which was what we desired (lightening & star gazing was phenomenal). We got poke & groceries on our way there in Hilo & then went out to dinner in Pāhoa. Fresh squeezed tangelo & orange juice from their trees was so memorable - liquid sunshine! We hope to visit again soon & stay for longer.
