Spectacular views - we woke up to a snow covered view of the valley and mountains. We were in a room facing the main road and the valley. Good location, right off the Pahalgam main road and a minute's walk from the market. The pony rides start right next to the hotel. Very hospitable staff and our stay included breakfast and dinner. Very good for the price. Only thing was not having running water in the winter (the plumbing doesn't support the sub zero temperatures). The staff provided buckets of water (hot or cold) whenever requested though. Electric blanket was sufficient during the night with snow falling outside. However intermittent power cuts made it a bit cold and scary on a snowy night (a small electric heater wasn't too much help for the cold).
we were booked for two nights - 3rd & 4th June, 2014 in a river (Lider) facing balcony room. The room ceiling height is 7 feet and the toilet is 6 ft. The double room bed has torn bed sheets and partially covered with a dusty and faded carpet. The tiles of the balcony floor were broken. the towels were dirty. the hotel room are to accessed through narrow staircases - no lift. the worst is the restaurant - they served us reaheated plain parathas claiming them to be aloo parathas. the owner is least bothered about the well being of the guests. the staff display a helpless look!
i strongly recommmend that this hotel should be taken out from expedia list.

Location is good as it is walking distance from the local market and taxi stands. Even though the room decor and furniture is old, the service is satisfactory and they try to address your concerns and make your stay comfortable. The food at the restaurant was delicious though a bit oily...
The day we went there asked to change the sheets, very bad experience .supposed to stay two nights but stayed for one night.Very dirty carpets ,no heaters to keep warm.Inside it was like prison.People were making so much noise,it was very hard to relax.Wash basin was very dirty.Water coming from the taps was dirty,no one of us had any bath or even clean our faces.Whole night we could hear dog barking. In my opionion this hotel should be close down,I heard other people complaining as well.If this hotel was in uk would have close down.My husband got ill there,he could not breath there and his chest became very tight and heavy.
The hotel was closed for winter, yet they booked us on. We were the only customers in the entire hotel. The temperatures outside was about -2 degree and they had absolutely no heating equipment inside the room, which was freezing. The restaurant of the hotel was closed. During snowstorms we had to walk and scout for food in the neighborhood. The hotel staff were absolutely unapologetic about this. One of the most harrowing hotel experiences I have ever had while on a holiday.

facilities provided by hotel was not upto the mark
The hotel is located at a good place. The river view out of the room is great. However, the staff is pathetic. The rooms are not cleaned properly, bedsheets are torn and the bathroom is dirty.

Excellent Location
Noor Mahal is the first hotel that you see as you enter Pahalgam from Srinagar / Gulmarg road. The best thing about the hotel is its location. Situated right opposite Lidder river with a beautiful garden on its bank; this is visible right through your room window if you are lucky enough get river facing rooms. No need to worry about food as local restaurants / market is within walking distance. Hotel has basic amenities so don't expect luxury, would give this hotel 2 stars as far as basic amenities are concerned.Good service received from the Hotel Staff. Noor Mahal is value for money if you are getting a cheap deal as compared to any other hotel in Pahalgam.
This hotel is just a waste of money, time, energy and vacation mood. Rooms are very small in height. Hotels.com should not listed hotels like Noor Mahal on their prominent site.

Good budget hotel
I stayed at the hotel for 1 night on 09-05-13 and booked two rooms. The hotel can be located very easily , with good view of mountains and the river Lidder.Hotel manager is very helpful while arranging cabs for local tours.Size of the room is big but it need to be renovated or repaired as required.People who wish to dine outside , they have plenty options nearby.
Very pathetic condition of the rooms, no cleanliness. Everything was like a 100 years old and literally in broken condition. Very filthy bedsheets. Pathetic room service. Overall a very bad experience.
