Great getaway-staging for Mount Rainier National Park
We chose this location because it was in a good location with a short drive to Mount Rainier National Park. We spent our days enjoying the park and nature. The house was very nice, well equipped and I couldn’t have been happier.
Wonderful time and comfortable home to stay in close to town
Saw elk almost every evening, and enjoyed the town of Packwood and the people we met there
Great location for visit to Mt. Rainier. Packwood is a lovely little town, we had everything we needed for a short stay. Plenty of space and comfortable bedrooms for 4 adults and 4 teens.
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The home was clean and well stocked. Communication with the owners was excellent. I would definitely refer this property to anyone looking for an accommodation in Packwood! My family and I got to spend some quality time together and this property was perfect!

I wanted to move in! It was so beautiful, charming, and comfortable. It had every amenity we could ask for! We were not disappointed!
This was a clean and inviting location that fit our family ranging from age 7-17 plus parents. Relaxing common area, furnishings, fun activities, dinner table that fits everyone, and the air hockey/mini-pool, and pingpong were a hit amongst all. Kitchen and bathrooms don't have all the amenities- but great communication by the hosts helped us know what to expect in advance so no surprises.
This house was absolutely perfect. It was clean and fully stocked with anything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the area was a great starting point each day. I’d highly recommend this house to anyone going to Packwood.
This home is amazing! It's beautiful, in a great location and offered all the amenities our family needed for a great getaway. The hot tub is wonderful, the home is comfortable and well laid our for a large family stay in the snow. We highly recommend this home and will definitely visit again. Thank you!
Great place located midway between Mt. Ranier and Mt. St. Helens
This property suited our needs perfectly. Both mountains were easily accessible. We like to cook in, and, for the most part, the kitchen was well stocked. I would have rated the property higher but the dangerous hand railing to the back door caused me to lower the overall rating.

Pleasant stay near the main town of Packwood. Place was very clean and nice overall. Very nice bathrooms, laundry units, and beds. However, Internet capability and Apple TV was not good. Hotel size bar soaps and shampoo would make a big difference since traveling with these items are not always possible.
We had everything we needed. Had access to a fully stocked kitchen. Used the hot tub. We had a full view of Mt Rainier from the deck and she was was showing in full glory. Close to Packwood and 20 minutes from the park entrance. Lodge was quite spacious.
Good place to stay generally comfortable and accommodating. A few minor issues: limited place settings; could not figure out tv; if you are the kind of person who unpacks few places to put things; some furniture not very comfortable. Bear had raided garbage, we could not reach hosts and wound up cleaning it up ourselves.

Nice place but could be nicer
Overall cleanliness was a problem for us. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher, grubby counters, deck and patio furniture were filthy, etc. showers and bathrooms were clean and nice and overall stay was nice, once we got kitchen clean and up to our standards. Would we stay here again? Yes, but I hope cleanliness becomes more of a priority.

This property is awesome and we can’t wait to come back. We met the neighbors across the street who have an amazing view of the mountain and the creek. Very friendly community !
The house is nice and decorated beautifully. The beds were so comfy. I was happy it was pet friendly and the rooms were big enough for her crate. Any problems were handled immediately or they were going to handle with repair man when we left. The owners communicated so quick (they don’t live in packwood). They had everything you could need in the kitchen. Don’t forget to bring baggies, tin foil, etc. as the local stores jack up the price a little bit.
FWIW: The only bummer (but not their fault is that AT&T cell service is sketchy in Packwood so casting to their TV was challenging but it worked out.

Nice clean home. Unfortunately, the rental agreement makes for an uncomfortable say.
I read a previous review that stated the same message, but I chose to ignore it. If you want to relax in a rental and not feel unwelcomed, I recommend finding another place.
I have been using VRBO for 5 years and have never had the same issue. I have never written a negative review. What made it particularly annoying is that the owner informed me the day of check- in that the refrigerator didn’t work. They offered to reimburse me $50 which I didn’t’ feel was nearly enough given that there a very few restaurants in Packwood and we enjoy cooking. I requested a $100 reimbursement, but the owner didn’t respond. To date, I have not been reimbursed the $50. In addition, the hot tub temperature was set at 90 degrees and the rental agreement stated that the temperature should not be change. The average water in a hot tub is 100-102 degrees.
What I found particularly disheartening is that the owner states in the rental agreement that they will charge the guest $25 for not loading the dish washer upon leaving the property. However, the owner only offered to reimburse the guest $50 for not providing a working refrigerator. Doesn’t seem right to me.
I wanted a little getaway in the woods with some close friends and this place worked out perfectly! Lovely space for cooking and socializing, very close to town and lots of hiking trails. Would definitely stay again!
We choose this location mainly for hiking, locally and Mt Rainier. The property was clean and inviting; a great base station. Plenty of kitchen essentials and the family games are a nice touch. Packwood has a few food/dining options, breweries and a grocery store. Prices at the grocery store were as expected from a remote/local store, and the variety of food selection was good. The hot tub was great after hiking all day, but could use some maintenance. Overall a great stay.
