We arrived at the villa very late to a basket and a bottle of wine. We immediately found there was only 1 TV that worked out of the 4 advertised. One bdrm TV's was wall mounted and unplugged, it didn't reach the wall where it was to be plugged in. The game system wasn't connected to the TV, we found a strand of hair under the pillow in the master bdrm, and my daughter found hairs all over the upstairs bathroom. We knew they weren't ours because they were black. We don't have black hair! We called the owner and a man from nearby came the next day at 4pm. He found that the 3 TV's didn't work because they had NO cable boxes which are NEEDED for the TVs! With much emailing to the owner, we were told the neighbor would get the new cable boxes the next day. My granddaughter was ill and was on the couch using the only working TV. On day 3 the cable boxes arrived. We were on our way out so we had to leave this stranger in the home with our things. When we came back we found all the new cable boxes connected, but the TVs still didn't work! On a whim I called the phone # on the screen of the TV to the cable co. Without giving me personal /account info they talked me through rebooting EACH box which took 1.25 hrs.! Not how I want to spend my vacation. I requested a 3 day refund from the owner for the situation. She told me they had "gone above and beyond" to rectify the issue! Offering us to move a DVD player to a non working TV is not above and beyond. After much back and forth she told me she'd never travel with a sick child and that I had the world at my doorstep, who cares about TV! She defended her cleaner regarding the hair strands! Once I sent photos she said the cleaner must've missed it and said she would come back to fix things. I understand things happen, but her attitude was horrible. Her last email asked us to leave 5 days into our stay! She told me I was "bloody rude" and could request a refund from the booking agent! I am a responsible renter, I would never give negative feedback unless warranted. This owner took no accountability, made excuses that she called the cable co. internationally from the UK. I'm sorry, this is her home. Once we got back home, I called VRBO. They called her and requested my 3 day refund for the TV situation, but she refused. VRBO said they couldn't refund me. I'm frustrated that this owner took no accountability, and feels she doesn't owe us compensation for our problems in her home. I have photos, video, and emails
