The property itself was a 4. Communication with the owner was unprofessional and disingenuous.
We were unable to get in touch with the owner to receive instructions on how to check in until a few hours before check in, although multiple attempts were made. The owner gave a code that did not work for the property and were sitting outside for over 3 hours. We were asked to “give her a second” because she had just gotten off a plane, although I’d been on the road for 7.5 hours, which was very unprofessional and disingenuous. We were told the house keeper would be there in 30 minutes, she showed up 1.5 later. The code also did not work for the housekeeper. The owner promised to compensate us for our troubles and she did not. She also somewhat refused to communicate with me, but chose to communicate with my significant other who was 10 hrs away in another state. She told him “no offense, but men seem to have better luck at getting into the property”. VRBO offered to give us a free night stay at an hotel and another location for the duration of our stay, but the housekeeper showed up as I was on the phone with them.
