NOT smoke free
Initial contact with the property manager was as soon as we arrived to let them know that the unit had a cigarette smoke smell when we entered. At that point I wasn't complaining, just letting them know it wasn't us. I had hoped that the smell would ease. We picked up some Febreeze with our grocery order. It did nothing to help the smell that only intensified during our stay. We checked-in Saturday and tried the spray for 2 days. On Monday I contacted the property manager to let them know that we were having headaches and taking allergy medicine because we were sensitive to the smoke smell. They sent someone over to do an "ozone treatment" while we were out that day. They said we would be unable to enter the unit for 4 hours. Upon re-entry, the smell was lighter, but still there. Tuesday it was back again, stronger. The management responded to our initial message, but then never followed back up with us regarding the success of the treatment. I could have continued to complain I guess, but it was obvious they weren't going to do anything else about it. We are now home and I'm having to re-wash and try to sanitize everything that we took inside the room, as it all stinks of smoke like the unit did. I had seen reviews mentioning the stained carpet. That's something I could live with to get a discounted room. Other reviews did not mention the smoke smell though. If I had known, I would not have rented this unit at all. The couch was also badly stained.
