There were roaches in the room. Once we got in the room around 11 pm, we found a dead roach in the fridge. Then in the morning, we found alive roaches. This was a couple of hours before our check out. When I was checking out, I told the employee in the lobby. He thanked me for letting him know and explained to me that they would not give me a discount for such a situation. Pretty much he told me that I could have called them and they would have switched the room for me; even though, it was a couple of hours before check out time. When I told him I was sure this was not the only room with roaches because usually it would be the entire building or most of it, he said it was normal because a 20 year old building. I have been to many Best Western hotels in different cities in south Florida and it has always been a great experience, but this time, it was a very bad experience.

I stayed here for 2 nights I see a terminally ill family member. The first night we found 1 roach on the bathroom floor. The morning after there was another roach on the ceiling, later that night another roach in the bathroom. There were a bunch of tiny ants running wild on the night table from the moment we got in until we left. The sheets were clean but I noticed a stain on my bed. The property itself just seems older. The lobby has a dull, old smell. If that makes sense. The property need a major upgrade. I’ve stayed at other best western properties and this one just is not up to par with the others. I was disappointed and I’m glad I was out most of the day so I didn’t have to stay there. Once I saw the first roach I was turned off completely. You guys need an exterminator.

We had issues in our room of a moldy shower head. We complained several times and it was fixed the day before check out. The room itself smelled of mold. The manager never came out to talk to us ridiculous

Was okay. Great location but I do realize that the area was hit by a hurricane a couple days before. so over looking the dirty areas. Food was mediocre cold eggs and dried up sausage links. Shuttle only went once to universal and only one return trip.

The room smelled horrible like mold and mildew definitely from the carpet and AC. The bathroom door got stuck and my son couldn't get out. AC wasn't cold enough. Toilet was dirty and had a pubic hair on the seat. TV was buffering no clear picture. Phone in room wasn't working. The front desk was no help at all. The man working at the front desk said he wanted to cancel our reservation but we were like and then where do we go at 7 pm. We asked to move rooms and he said no. I said can you check before you say no. Then he said were sold out. He was not willing to help in anyway. He then said there's no housekeeping either so basically we had to clean it ourselves. I had to get clorox wipes to wipe down the entire room and purchased deodorizer for the horrible smell. WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN, ONE NIGHT WAS BAD ENOUGH!

We found a dead ant on our bed, the corridors smelled like mold, the shower head had visible mold on it & you could see the rust on the pipes under the bathroom sink. Had to go to the front desk to activate the key card twice because it stopped working. Breakfast was ok. Location was great. Staff was nice. Will not be staying here again & wouldnt recommend anyone to due to the lack of cleanliness that should be a basic requirement

Only giving this a two-star rating due to two separate instances on the same day where staff came knocking on our door and attempted to enter our room while we were there. At no time did the front desk ever tell us during check-in than any sort of Maintenance or anything had to be done during our stay and that they needed to have access to our room or even permission to enter while we were there or even when we were gone. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! The first attempt we made it to the door and time before we heard them attempting to enter our room. The second time we were dead asleep and I barely made it to the door to answer. Had to hide behind it as I was not dressed properly. Again, I managed to get to the door before they attempted to open our room. If this hotel has the habit of letting their staff just enter a guest's room without prior authorization or letting them know, this is wrong. After this incident I did not a safe here or feel like like the hotel treated their guests with respect and courtesy.

I booked this hotel because of walkable distance to Universal. I was happy with my overall stay/ value for the money.The staff were friendly, rooms clean, however the hotel needs an upkeep, the breakfast had limited choices and the pool wasn't cleaned on regular basis.
