"So this place was a good place to stay as we start our drive around the country. It's in the middle of nowhere (by beach though) but not scenic. The room is comfortable and clean. It's really quiet. The only downside is there was very limited hot water. My wife used it all up in a not very long ..."

"The room was not cleaned, old towels were hanging, there was no linen in one of the beds. We booked for 10 people, but there were actually 8 seats. The staff was arrogant, no one helped.The location was close to the beach, 10 minutes walk, but the house was somewhere behind the warehouse."

Parking is free and there’s plenty. Pop. of 1600, it’s clean, quiet and close to many places of interest. There’s a fish processing plant so you get an occasional whiff but Þorlákshöfn was truly a relaxing, fun, quiet alternative to Reykjavík.
