"This time the automatic check in was a massive mess. 1 it did not accept my credit card from the booking or the QR code to release the code to the safety gate to enter the hotel parking or my room. 2 it then charged me twice the deposit/incidental fee. "An AMAZING beautiful hotel conveniently located in prime area. The entire staff was POSITIVELY the best!!! I can not say enough good things about the entire staff. From the moment we stepped in to the lobby we were catered to as if we were Royalty. They were so accommodating and helpful. "Very luxurious stay. Incredible room - beautiful finishings and a view overlooking the lovely courtyard. The setting is lovely with a vineyard on site with a terrace. The staff were really friendly. The restaurant in Bages was a 5 minute walk and was lovely also although unless you have a car (or arrange a taxi which can be quite expensive we foune) there are not so many options around other than that but the hotel itself is nice enough to want to stay! "

"Camille and Max were fabulous hosts at this hotel. Assisted with multiple requests. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the village. The restaurant does a beautiful lunch which is not to be missed. Best decision of my trip was to stay here to experience St Emilion. "

"I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter. We originally booked it for one night only, but due to changing family circumstances she had to add another night. She doesn't speak French, so she was very impressed with the staff ability to communicate with her and help her with all her needs. Customer service is what made this property to stand out. "The hotel staff was friendly and our room was clean and spacious enough for a family of 4. The hotel is close to some restaurants, but there is no place to walk nearby the hotel. The breakfast for €8.00 was very basic, no fresh fruit and no eggs but decent coffee. "

"Great choice if you are visiting Paulliac or Saint Julien wineries at Bordeaux. Very close to a few famous ones. The room is spacious and the amenities are nice. Good restaurant as well. However, the only issue is the Accessibility, they have quite a few bumps, stairs if you are using a wheelchair or so."

"Lovely, quirky hotel right in the middle of the city so very convenient for everything. The receptionists were excellent, so bright and helpful. Particularly helped with the parking as it’s quite tricky when the small car park is busy. "We weren’t disappointed by this property at all. We stayed for 3 nights while attending a wedding . I will say that this place while soundproofed, is not quiet, you can hear people in other rooms. The beds could be a bit more comfortable too. Other than that, our room was clean, the staff were friendly and spoke English. The location is beautiful, we loved Jonzac and would return. "

"We stayed in pillac with 10 adults from 74 to 34, and 9 children aged between 2 and 18 and what a holiday we had! The house is perfectly set up for family groups as each lot can take a "wing". A really well equipped kitchen enabled us to have wonderful meals at home... meat cooked by the boys and wonderful salads cooked by Barbara's friend. Barbara was super helpful and very easy to contact the whole time. The village was gorgeous but tiny..... about a 10 minute drive for any grocery shopping....

"We have stayed with extended family and friends including a number of teens, baby and a large dog. Had brilliant time, house well equipped for all ages, pool is large and very well maintained. Extensive grounds with lots of places to relax including my favourite - the hammock! The views are to die for! All very clean and the owners were fantastic, helpful but not intrusive. We had such a lovely time and will come back to continue exploring the area - so much to do!"

Lovely property and development

"Thank you for a lovely stay in the house. The kids enjoyed the sports facilities and the development is peaceful and secure. Spacious garden and house, even for 5 of us and the house could have still been comfortable with more people. Great location, close to shops etc., but still a quiet location surrounded by sunflowers. "

Perfect family holiday

"We had two lovely week holiday at The Chai and cannot fault anything. Anne and her husband are the perfect hosts-friendly, welcoming and happy to provide ideas and advice for places to visit. They were always available but never intrusive. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was spotlessly clean. We loved the pool (it was an ideal temperature) and the plentiful children's games were a bonus. The garden was perfect for the children to play in too, enclosed and lots of space for them to run around. Have to mention the views and the beautiful sunsets as well! Highly recommend a stay here. "

"Brilliant location to explore cognac and a great place to stay. Host is super helpful and conscientious. House is amazing and well maintained and equipped. Pool is great and other activities help keep the kids entertained! Great time was had by all and son is already planning a trip back."
