If you are looking for a family friendly getaway close to the beach in Orford, then look no further. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, the house is all on one level with a big wrap-around verandah to spend lazy afternoons watching the kids play backyard cricket from. East Shelly Beach, with its pristine white sands, is an easy 5 minute stroll away. Pack the car and enjoy a few nights or even a couple of weeks during the school holidays from this convenient home.
The Space:
Positioned all on one level with a wrap-around verandah, you'll feel right at home here. A simple shack with all the comforts of home in a fantastic location, only metres from pristine East Shelly Beach. Spring Beach is only a 5 minute drive.
Three bedrooms are furnished with a queen bed and two doubles, suitable for a group of couples, singles or a family.
The kitchen has been set up for self-catering - grab your supplies from the Orford IGA or venture a little further up the coast to nearby Triabunna where you will find another supermarket and the local butcher. Hill Street Grocer do deliveries to Orford on certain days if you are organised enough to order in advance. There are also various pubs and establishments to grab a meal at if you would prefer not to cook.
The house is fully fenced with a great yard for backyard cricket and is located only a short stroll from the jetty where you can easily launch your boat or throw a line in and try your luck for some flathead or squid.
Guest Access:
The house is made available to guests to enjoy in private.
The Neighborhood:
Orford is a popular seaside town at the beginning of Tasmania's Great Eastern Drive and there are a number of vineyards to visit on Tasmania's East Coast.
There is plenty of swimming, surfing and seaside lounging to be done. You’ll find many picturesque swimming beaches in the local area; Raspins, Millingtons, Spring and Rheban are all clean, white, long and beautiful beaches you won't regret visiting.
Maria Island is a natural wildlife sanctuary with historic ruins, sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and plenty of stories to tell. Located off Tasmania's east coast and accessible only by ferry from Triabunna a short 10 min drive away, Maria Island contains the most intact example of a convict probation station in Australia
The house is located in an internal block offering a quite stay and access to the beach is only 200m away.
Getting Around:
There is beach access only a short 200m walk away and the centre of Orford is a 15 min stroll along the water-edge trail.
Otherwise it is recommended to have a car to access beaches further away and all the Great Eastern Drive has to offer.
Hobart and it's attractions are a 60 min drive away.
