"The walls are paper-thin, you can hear neighbor's TV. There is a smell of mold in the room. The shared bath was not clean. The futons are very thin as well. The communal toilet slippers were disgustingly dirty, and no other slippers inside the hotel were provided (you walk on very old carpets and floors in the hotel hallways barefooted). "This was a very memorable place that I visited. It is in the rural area of japan, you can really feel the realness of the area. It's in gifu however it's definitely not a tourist trap area. The owners of the establishment reminded me of my grandmother. You are not getting a hotle with this stay more of a B&B, it definitely felt like I a was sleeping over a japanese grandma's house. "We were a family with young children and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel itself is great - the size and amenities available (they have a whole range of baby items and other handy items that you can request for FOC) is unbeatable in Japan. However, the location of the property itself is in a seedy area, amidst rows of very colorful nightclubs. On the first night, we were awoken at 2am by a fight but otherwise we got back by 8.30pm every night and never felt unsafe."
