My Wife and I traveled to Bangkok for our 10th year marriage anniversary. The hotel was excellent, the food was good, and the room was amazing. For the most part everything was top tier, until the earthquake occured. Unfortunately my wife and I were caught in the mall on the top floor when the earthquake occured and were unable to get back to our hotel for several hours. We stayed on the 58th floor of the hotel and when we returned we immediately wanted to leave the country and return to our kids. I asked to check out a day early and to get a refund for our final day and was denied. Given the situation I can't fathom why there would be a problem issuing a refund for a single night. Then while I was packing and in the middle of undressing preparing to leave the hotel, one of the staff walked in my room without knocking and unannounced. The way we were treated was poor and the situation was handled horribly. We received no help or refund from either Expedia or Lebua at State Tower and both blamed each other for not being able to do so. There was no accountability.

After the earthquake, we couldn't reenter the hotel, so we lost that night's stay. The following day, when we were allowed to retrieve our belongings, that stay was not refunded either.

Tastoria was the perfect short weekend getaway. We loved their breakfast options and everything was great. It is a boutique luxury hotel and had everything that we would need. We celebrated our anniversary there and they made it truly special with really nice decorations in our room and a cute little cake.
