We visit Windrock often, staying 2-3 times per year to ride. Our usual cabin was booked for our big group, so we chose this home for the size and proximity to trails. The good-location is only about 10 minutes from the General store, the back deck is nice to relax on the evenings, and we loved the pool table downstairs. It was also a quiet area, with a pretty view of the mountains. The less than good-The home is much older and run down than it appears in the pictures. The beds are very uncomfortable. Quite a few things were broken (the microwave handle, several lamps, etc.) Just seems like it’s not up-kept very well. The toilets were all backed up when we arrived. I tried calling all day Saturday to find out how to check in (never received instructions until 15 minutes prior to arrival so that was bothersome) and to report the backed up toilets, and never received a response until the next morning when I got a message from the host telling me she was out of town with no service asking if i was able to get in the house (we did thankfully) Maintenance did come out that afternoon, but we continued to have issues with all but 1 toilet for the rest of our stay, keeping in mind the reason we booked a big home was for the space and additional bathrooms. Downstairs had a very strong mildew smell, and it wasn’t the most pleasant, but I guess to be expected in a basement. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but for the money it definitely seemed extremely overpriced.
