## Neighborhood

Olhão is located next to Faro. It has a lovely and lively old centre with a rich history of traditional Portuguese culture. From here, you can easily explore both the east, west and inland Algarve but Olhão is perhaps most famous as the access point to the beautiful and peaceful islands of Armona and Culatra by ferry. There are public and private ferry options available.

Due to the central location, you will have lots of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from in the close vicinity of the apartment.

## Transit

You can quickly get around on foot or use public transport or a taxi/uber. A hire car is recommended if you want to explore the larger Algarve area. Parking in old town Olhão is accessible in most places, except along the waterfront. It can be challenging to find it. An extensive paid parking area at a nearby hotel is a good alternative for those uncomfortable navigating the old town streets.

Nous avons eu des problèmes à l’arrivée Après discussions le gestionnaire et le propriétaire nous ont compensés. La famille propriétaire de l’appartement sont ultra gentils . Des commodités annoncées et vérifiées n’étaient pas sur place ce qui a modifié notre séjour.

Ein attraktives Anwesen mit einigen Herausforderungen.
Bei unserer Ankunft waren wir sehr beeindruckt, da dieses Objekt durch seinen einzigartigen Charme ein Gefühl von Urlaub vermittelt. Bei unserer Ankunft stellten wir leider schnell fest, dass sich auf dem Boden Farbflecken befanden. Wir erkundigten uns umgehend bei der Gastgeberin, die uns mitteilte, dass die Decke kürzlich gestrichen worden sei und es sich um heruntergetropfte Farbflecken handele. Ein Problem, das wir hatten, war ein Ameisenbefall im Haus. Außerdem könnte die Sauberkeit verbessert werden. Es wurde angegeben, dass Shampoo und Duschgel vorhanden sein würden, aber leider war dies nicht so. Die Terrasse ist wunderbar und wir haben es genossen, draußen zu sitzen. Die Treppe ist etwas schwierig zu bewältigen. Das Bett war kein richtiges Bett sondern ein ausgeklapptes Sofagestell wo einfach eine Matratze drauf war außerdem war die Matratze nicht gerade so bequem Bettwäsche war nicht vorhanden. Trotz des Ameisenproblems haben wir die Lage der Unterkunft und die Stadt Olhao sehr geschätzt. Es gab eine schnelle Reaktion, als der Strom ausfiel. Es wird empfohlen, nicht mehr als ein Gerät gleichzeitig zu benutzen. Die Gastgeberin ist gut erreichbar. Leider gab es einen leichten muffigen Geruch in der Unterkunft. Insgesamt waren wir mit dem Wohnen soweit zufrieden, auch wenn es einige Mängel gab. Dennoch würden wir die Unterkunft nicht noch einmal buchen, sondern stattdessen ein Hotel wählen.

Lovely quaint character property
We were really pleased with the property, perfect for 2 adults, or 2 adults and 2 older kids. Very steep stairs! The location was nice mixed with the locals and nice local cafes. Everyone was very friendly. Only a couple of niggles; the power tripped using the kettle or oven, anything high powered, and the frying pans need replacing, heavily scratched Teflon which we didn’t wish to use. These were pretty minor and hopefully something the owner can easily solve. Was very nice sitting on the terrace in a hot evening and a bonus having air con to cool down a little.
