"Could have been a 5 star rating but:1. we had to shovel 5 inches of snow from walkway and deck to get in the house2. Very small amount of toilet paper. Had to go to the store the first evening we arrived. 3. The request to leave an empty dishwater, beds stripped, garbage removed AND to take with ..."

Weekend Getaway
"My wife and I travelled to Old Forge for a weekend in snow country. Our stay at the Guide Cottage served our needs well. It was clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of downtown. Although not fancy, it had everything we needed at a very reasonable price."

Great little family run shops and great food. There was a Winter Festival in Raquette Lake with a lot of fun activities for kids and family

Stayed two nights in late Aug while traveling in area. Very scenic area. There's a lot of outdoor activities but limited rainy day things to do. Overall a nice quiet place to spend some time.

Great place to visit in the Winter months. Plenty of things to do. Went to Tamarack for breakfast - would recommend. Went to Woods Inn for dinner and breakfast- would recommend and Daikers for drinks - would recommend.
