False Advertising and Security Concerns
My experience at this property was disappointing for several reasons. Upon arrival, I received the gate code and the code to retrieve the apartment key. However, the security gate was left open for the duration of my 3-week stay, and the lockbox containing the key was left unsecured. This made the apartment feel less safe right from the start.When I entered the apartment, it reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it was listed as a non-smoking unit. Additionally, I discovered that both the sliding glass door and the kitchen window were unlocked, and the window’s screen was lying on the ground outside. Outside the window, there were also a large barrel and a bucket, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe.The unit did not match the photos or the description provided. The couch was broken, uncomfortable, and covered in crumbs. I was also disappointed to find that basic supplies, such as dishcloths, garbage bags, a skillet, and dishwasher soap, were not provided. The dryer contained someone else’s belongings, which added to the overall sense of neglect. The toilet had not been properly cleaned, and the bedroom linens smelled greasy and were unclean.There was no desk chair for the workspace, which I needed for remote work. I reached out to the owner about these issues, and while they promised to send someone to clean the apartment, I received no apology or offer to make things right.Overall, this stay was not as advertised, and I would not recommend this property.
