I was shown around the place Sunday evening. The rooms were dim — with one or two low wattage bulbs each. Heavy duty fans were making noise in every room. A hallway leading outside was permanently wet with a layer of water. Fans were running at both ends.
He showed me a refrigerator/freezer also with no light bulbs and door edges black with mold. Then a small oven so dirty I would never eat anything cooked in it.
Told me the hot water wasn’t very hot because he didn’t know how to raise the temperature.(!?!)
Showed off the bathroom that was so dimly lit, I’d be afraid to shave in there.
The washing machine was half broken, so small loads onlyHe demonstrated at length a wall mounted TV featuring ROKU as if I would be entranced by it for three weeks.
Screened porch featured torn screens; some badly repaired other not at all. There were three doors, only one of which had a key — which he presented to me. All floors were carpeted except the kitchen and the (very wet) hallway entrance.
After he departed, I turned off the fans and became immediately aware of why they were in place. The stink of mold under the carpeting, masked by years (?) of perfumed surface cleaners was overwhelming. My health became the deciding factor for my departure.
I was very tired and slept in the relative safety of the porch for a couple of hours, Then set about repacking the car in the very early hours of today (26th) and departed at first light.
