Comfortable stay with lots to do nearby
Stables East at Melfort Village is a lovely 2 bed cottage with access to the facilities at Melfort Village. A great location for exploring the local coastline from Oban down to Lochgilphead, Crinan and beyond. Easdale and the Isle Of Seil is well worth a day out. The pool and spa at Melfort were well used by us, perfect after a day out walking or cycling. The cottage has everything you need, and is cosy and comfortable. Some things could do with an upgrade, such as the wood burning stove and the wall heater in the bedroom could be replaced with something more efficient. But on the whole it’s good. The WiFi was surprising good given the location. The staff at reception were excellent, always really helpful and full of advice about the area. Will definitely return.

Excellent week and accommodation
Hot water pressure in shower very weak. We were surprised that we had to pay an additional amount for the wood and kindling for the fireplace.

Delightful cottage near Oban
Stables Cottage at Melfort Village is a delightful place to stay within 30minutes drive of Oban. It is a real bonus to have a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and games area. Perfect for couples and families too. Definitely recommend for a quiet peaceful rural location.

Marvellous Melfort
Melfort Village is very well positioned for exploring the surrounding landscape, there’s lots to do and see. We visited Luing and Easdale Islands nearby, simply wonderful. The Stables East was so comfortable and cosy, a wee home from home. It supplied everything we needed and more. Four of us stayed including our dog, the village staff were so welcoming and helpful. The Shower of Herring, the on site restaurant, offers good quality standard food with excellent exotic additions like the excellent Polish soup we enjoyed one night, made by the wonderful Kat who runs the place with splendid friendliness and efficiency. We only stayed for a short break but we will definitely return for longer, we would be happy to stay in any of the houses in the village. They are all so pretty and unique. We will definitely plan to stay on a Monday to enjoy the music night in the restaurant, the local musicians were very talented and encouraged us to join in.

Great holiday in wonderful surroundings
We spent an amazing week in Melfort Village with our son and his wife, plus 2 small children. Weather was mixed but that did not matter as we had the option of the indoor playroom and the swimming pool on the couple of poor days; and lovely walks round the grounds, playing on the swings and kicking a ball in the big field on good days. The staff really "make" Melfort, as they are so friendly and helpful, with lots of ideas of places to visit and things to do. The atmosphere in this pretty little "village" is so nice, with all the guests chatting to each other when they meet. I highly recommend it to all ages.

My Husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Stables East. Thy house was very comfortable and as the weather was good but a bit unpredictable, we appreciated the good accommodation. We have stayed in Melfort village for holidays over many years and have introduced our Family to it. They also separately from us, come on a regular basis.

My friend and I really enjoyed the stay with you, as usual.
Everything went very smoothly. the Sunday morning welcome and info. meeting was very well done and the reservations made by the office for a boat trip and guided walk worked without flaw. Great Monday night music session in the bar. My friend was most impressed by her first visit and plans another later.

Spring in Melfort Village
Having stayed at Melfort village on a number of occasions we were again extremely satisfied with our Spring break. The staff at the resort were extremely helpful and friendly, as they always have been. The new team in the restaurant provided a friendly pleasant atmosphere in which to have a meal and the food was enjoyable and well presented. We are looking forward to our next visit to Melfort.

Anniversary week away
Love Melfort Village. 3rd time now, usually in February. When we entered the house, it smelled too much of cleaning agents but soon settled down, it could also have done with a deeper clean in the living room, all other rooms lovely. We didn't mention it until checkout, but with hindsight we should have told reception right away as they told us they would have rectified it straight away, which was good. Lovely house with very comfy bed and quality bathroom. All the utensils you could ever need in the kitchen and the log burner in the living room was a nice touch. The on site restaurant was excellent and very fairly priced, open every day except Tuesdays and does takeaway meals. Can't wait to go back.
