Staff are very nice & welcome. The location is central, convenient to talk everywhere. Convenient store next door to buy supply, water… Staff make great recommendations for taxi & tour.
Only thing is internet doesn’t work in the room. It only work near the reception area.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. Nicely decorated rated but bed and pillows a little hard. Quiet. We ate at the restaurant about 5 times and everything was delicious. Close to El Llano and Santo Domingo.

hotel far from the zocalo
The room does not have wifi, not safe box, the hotel is far from zocalo people is nice friendly but only one of the staff member "Daniela" was excellent, she tried to fix the wifi several time also i can use the wifi at the lobby becauese not service in my room. The food was ok, the room clean the bed is good for people with the back problems but the pillows awful.
good location close to the historical center of town. We were able to walk everywhere, explore the local markets, and visit the wonderful churches and museums. Well prepared and tasty traditional Oaxacan food!
The bed and pillows were hard as a rock. There is a floor fan, but you can not open the window because of the noise. the was a terrible smell from the water when we tried to fill the tub. The floor next to the tub was covered with water when you took a shower, which made it very unsafe getting out of the Shower.
The Junior suite 108 is over the garage and it noisy
The staff would be moving the trashcans early in the morning.
Could not get the WIFI while in the room, had to go to the lobby.
Our family of 4 spent 5 days in Oaxaca and the surrounding towns soaking up the culture, and enjoying the food and friendly people. There are many things to do and see in the city of Oaxaca, and several small towns outside of the city that are fun to explore. We visited a mezcal factory, observed locals weaving rugs, making baskets, carving and painting alebrijes, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the ruins of Monte Alban.
nice hotel close to everything. staff are very friendly.

Nice room with big flat screen TV bathroom nice with stall shower but water pressure and temperature was totally inadequate. Luke warm dribble!!! Good towels! Location on non-tourist street but safe neighborhood. Staff spoke almost no English.

Modest hotel, modest tariff
Pleasant staff accommodated changes in plans. Rooms have limited or airshaft views but have good neds and t.v. Walking distance from first-class bus terminal and zôcalo (main square).
The staff was professional and friendly. The restaurant food was OK but a little pricey for what you got. It is next to a newspaper and government offices. The only thing keeping the hotel from getting 4 stars were rock hard matress' and pillows.

Great value for the money!
Oaxaca is a destination for Night of the Radishes and Christmas, and the more upscale hotels were full when I went to book. This hotel is a bargain -- it was quite pleasant and adequate for all our needs, including TV and internet.
This is not a luxury hotel but it is clean and the location is safe. Only 5 blocks away from El Andador, pedestrian way. In 5-10 minutes walk you are in Santo Domingo. Hotel Oaxaca Azul is one block away and Quinta Real is 2 blocks, both have better facilities than Cantera Real but the price is more than double for what you pay in Cantera Real. The staff in Cantera Real is friendly and professional at the same time. I spent a week in this hotel, I had a room with a balcony overlooking the street that at times was busy with traffic but at night was quiet. The W fi works well, the computer at the reception does not work; therefore if you plan to stay bring your computer or tablet. I enjoyed my stay, if I return to Oaxaca I probably will stay in this hotel if the price is right. The restaurant in hotel is good and there is parking in the facility.
We stayed at Cantera Real for two nights. The rooms were small but very comfortable. The employees were extra nice and the food and drinks at the restaurant were great. Next time we go to Oaxaca we are definitely staying there again.
