The accommodations are nice. However for a Marriott Hotel I was somewhat disappointed. The advertised Market was nothing more than an over priced mini mart at best. The restaurant offered limited choices for dinner and some items, including breakfast items, were prepared with frozen food i.e. the breakfast potatoes and pizza selection. Sugar and powdered creamer, both required multiple packs to even get a teaspoon amount, were provided with coffee. While the decor in my room was nice the layout was inconveniently situated for watching TV at night being that the TV was on a wall along the side of the bed rather than at the foot of the bed. Again overall the accommodations were nice but I was expecting a little more in some areas from Marriott.

Oakland is Oakland! Nobody dared to go out to dine at night after 5 p.m to go to Jack London Square, so people either ordered in or enjoyed the restaurant on cite, good food and loving respectful hospitality. $50.00 parking per night!!!

I recently stayed at the Marriott City Center in Oakland during the holiday season, and it was a truly wonderful experience! What I Loved: Prime Location: The hotel is perfectly situated in downtown Oakland, just steps away from the BART station, making it incredibly convenient to explore both Oakland and San Francisco. It’s also close to Jack London Square, Lake Merritt, and great local dining and shopping options. Beautiful Amenities: The hotel offers excellent amenities that enhanced my stay. The rooms are spacious, modern, and immaculately clean, with stunning views of the city. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating a warm and festive ambiance. I especially loved the complimentary hot cocoa and cookies – a sweet touch! Dining Options: The on-site restaurant, Iron & Oak, served delicious meals with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Their holiday menu was a standout, and the seasonal cocktails were the perfect way to end a busy day of exploring. Friendly Staff: The staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. From the front desk team to housekeeping, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and helpful. Whenever I can find a decent rate, I will stay at this hotel. The most important thing for me is it is on top of the BART, the hotel staff work to keep it clean, and the views are spectacular.
