Firstly, i paid Over the phone and upon arrival i was Told that the old management took my payment and that i had To pay another £90. They said they would send me a email explaining what had happened however i have Never received this. Secondly my 15 year old brother lifted his mattress as we could smell something and it smelt like sewage. It got to 2 in the morning and the room next to us were partying all night. There were stains on the walls, stains on the carpets the rooms smelt like damp and mold. The beds smelt and all in all i paid £180 for one night and it wasn’t worth it at all. The pub itself was nice but i wouldn’t be staying at the accommodation again as it felt like a scam i shouldn’t of stayed but we were at a funeral that day and were 4 hours away from home so i had No choice.
Absolutely appalling. Wasn’t made aware that there was a rave for teenagers in the pub loud thudding noise till 1.30 pm. Smoke alarm went off all night due to dry ice machine. Staff dismissive, couldn’t care less. It made us feel ill, No sleep, No food, No towels
We left the property as everything about the room was unsatisfactory. The landlord was rude, the room smelled long-term unclean, the bed was lumpy, the bedlinen was mismatched and unironed...wasn't sure it was clean.
The landlord, David, said he had recently taken it over and had no details from Expedia of who was booked in. He had taken my payment over the phone and declined to give a refund when we declined to stay!

I arrived having pre-booked on Expedia to be told by the landlord that he does not accept booking any more on this app. The original price was quite reasonable at £50 however he said a room was available with ensuite at £75 which I paid as I had no other options. The room was clean but there was no shower gel or shampoo provided and at £75 I would have expected a breakfast. In fact though, they don't even provide a paid for breakfast which is surprising.
Hotels.com took my money for the booking, On arrival the manager failed to recognise the booking and I had to pay again. Hotels.com com refuse to refund me for my booking stating the manager will not respond.
There were either rats or birds in the roof space above my room, which kept me awake. Avoid The Boot Inn and Hotels.com
Unfortunitely The boot Hotel is no longer available on Hotels.com. We arrived to find the Hotel has been taken over by a new landlord and no longer uses this site. He was very apologetic and was willing to return any money lost.

Mixed emotions.
Welcome was friendly & very helpful. Building quaint. Very clean. Some nice wee touches. No food available. Basic amenities in room lacking - no bin in bathroom, bed sagging at one side, lack of sockets, unable to get shower to work - no one in property in morning to ask for help. Noise from bar until midnight - could hear conversations, music & pool being played.
I appreciate that it's an old building, but it needs some money spent on the building, bedroom was in need of a very good clean, needs painting, total update is required, emailed last week to enquire about breakfast was told it was shut for a refurbishment on arrival was told the chef had walked out feel totally let down, would have tried to cancel an book another place but was to late, not happy
