"The overall experience was satisfying. Breakfast and dinner had a decent spread and to top it up the food was quite tasty. We enjoyed the breezy weather and the endless garden area which gave us ample space gaze around. Friendly staff."

"The first nights dinner was horrible cos we ordered the wrong stuff & lunch & breafsdt sandwiches were not so good. So the next day for breakfast we ordered Sri Lankan milk rice, string hoppers & Pol Rotti., chicken & fish curry, potato & dhal curry. It was absolutely super, excellent. The fruit was so good. It was to die for. The papaya especially."

"Amazing place to stay if you plan to do a Safari in Wilpattu. The tent is very beautiful, the staff is super atentious and you can feel very close to nature. Calm and relaxing stay! I totally recomend it!"

"It started with a bad surprise, for which I would blame Hotels.com as they showed pictures of the Mahoora tents, but booked us in the Big Game tent… a lower standard. Once that issue was cleared, we truely enjoyed our stay… the Mahoora tent is amazing, in a stunning environment. Service is great, candle dinner is amazing… and the safari organization was perfect."

"HR Solo traveller I visited the Sanctuary on the recommendation of a friend and thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay there. Great care and much thought has been given to the furnishings of the house. "We loved this accommodation. It was the best of all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is unique, new and spotless clean. The staff were amazing and very helpful with anything we required, and the location was perfect. If you want to experience holidaying in a village, then this is the place. "The best thing about this hotel is the service from chef, barman and kitchen staffs. The swimming pool is clean and good size. The checked in was very slow as the staff did not know of our arrival. The room we got is definitely NOT worth 91 dollars per night for sure. Very small, very very basic ,no television, no fridge, no internet, no tea/ coffee. Ok that I can bear. The mirror is so filthy like it has never been cleaned for years. The worst is the shower, it did not function well, we had to...

Relaxation at Khomba

"We had a nice relaxing time at Khomba. We were looked after very well by the resident staff. The standard of cooking was exceptional. The house is located with a beach accessed directly from the property. The area is very quiet with hotels on each side now closed after the pandemic and returning to nature. Another hotel close by has a fantastic pool which is available to use. There were a couple of basic bicycles which we used to cycle around the local villages. The accommodation is of a good standard and very comfortable with plenty of room for relaxation. There is fast WiFi available."

"HR Solo traveller I visited the Sanctuary on the recommendation of a friend and thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay there. Great care and much thought has been given to the furnishings of the house. It has an extensive collection of books on wildlife and birds and I could have spent many hours browsing this collection. The food was delicious and I was looked after very well by Dula and his team. There is a good choice of excursions on offer, but I chose a half day tour to the Wilpattu National Park which is only about 30 minutes drive from the Sanctuary. Dula and his wife, Achini were my guides and they took a great deal of trouble to ensure that I had a memorable experience. We were fortunate to see leopard, elephants, sea eagles and much more. I will definitely return on my next visit to Sri Lanka. "
