Great place to stay beautiful property by the river
We had a great time . The cabin was very nice and clean and Tom was in contact incase we needed anything . We traveled around the area and out further on our motorcycles , great roads and small town places to eat .

3 of my friends and I came up to go deer hunting. The house is just as described. Tom was a great host and helped us with everything we needed. We hope to come back.

This was the absolute perfect spot to get away. The views of the river and being on a quiet dirt road out in the country. Definitely felt like a home away from home. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner at night! Can’t wait to be back there again!

Host communicated well. We had 8 people & there was plenty of room. Decks are nice & relaxing. A River/creek runs by it & grandkids had fun playing near by. We visited Cliffy Falls State Park about 30 minutes away.

We highly recommend staying at this cabin if your looking for natures beauty and a relaxing place to stay. The host has this place totally set up for you to enjoy your stay. I suggest you go check in first to see what you need to buy as the kitchen is totally set up with any staples you could need right down to the spices. Bathroom and laundry supplies are there too. We had fresh flowers some right off the property. Fresh baked cookies abd a fruit basket We were in town for a wedding and will definitely be going back as we have family there. Don't miss out on your chance to stay here if your in the area. We have stayed in vacation rentals from Michigan, Tennesee, and Florida. This place is absolutely one of the best !

Lovely Stay, highly recommend
The cabin was private and spacious, but still cozy. The beds were comfortable, the view was beautiful, the massage chair was a perk, and the kids loved swimming and kayaking in the river. There were homemade cookies for us on arrival and any questions answered through text. Everything we could think of or need, the house had it! Basic toiletries and beyond were available in each bathroom. Things to note: there is not a great place to do a fire pit or bonfire, but we did use a small charcoal grill for some dinner.

Perfect family getaway
We found this house on VRBO and chose it for a quick and quiet family getaway for the last week of summer before the school year starts. Everything about this place was perfect! The house was very clean and everything we needed and more was available for our use. From toiletries to fresh garden produce dropped off by Tom twice during our stay, fresh baked cookies waiting when we arrived, tubes and toys for the kids to play with in the river, a plethora of books to read, games, and the list goes on. The location is beautiful and peaceful, a perfect place to relax, read, have coffee on the deck, and for the kids to just play all day with no distractions. The pictures in the listing are really just a small glimpse of the natural beauty of this property. We would absolutely recommend Tom’s house and would love to return in the future, I’d love to see the view from the deck in the fall! Thank you, Tom, for your hospitality and for being willing to share this beautiful home that you’ve obviously put a lot of time, thought, and work in to!

Quaint Cottage
Upon arrival, we found cookies and wine with a fruit basket. What a great way to start off our weekend! The cottage was very clean and tidy. We had to get used to the stove top, as it is very old, but we got the hang of it and it worked well for our needs (we cooked every meal at the house). The decks had amazing views, with enough chairs to seat 6 on the main floor deck. We found the best place to walk our dog was down the road since the shoulders had some grass. Having use of the 1 kayak available at the cottage was great, as we were able to bring enough for the rest of us. The river was quite low (Memorial Day weekend) and we had to walk our kayaks multiple times (we put in at iron bridge). We also got multiple uses out of the massage chair, which was amazing! Not much to do in North Vernon or Vernon, although we did find some nice tennis courts to hit at! Overall, we would recommend staying here. If you are looking to kayak, we would suggest scheduling your visit at least 3 weeks prior to Memorial Day to ensure the river is high enough. Great, clean cottage for a long weekend or week long stay! Host has great hospitality and does a great job making sure his guests have everything they need!

Best VRBO Experience
There aren’t enough words to express how great our experience was. We have a big family, 6 kids of our own, and we wanted a place big enough for my sister and her family to hang out during the day. We live in Oklahoma so we only saw the property online before renting. We were a bit nervous because online expectations aren’t always met, but when we arrived in person we were floored. There were homemade baked cookies waiting for us on the stove, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. The owner left a binder with clear information and instructions, and the 2 times we had questions he responded immediately. The house itself was much bigger than we realized. It has 3 full bathrooms, 1 on each level, and 3 large bedrooms. There are lots of places to sleep in the basement so all of our kids ended up staying down there together. We stayed in the master bedroom and it was so nice waking up and sitting out on the top balcony. We kayaked, caught frogs, played cards and games out on the deck, explored the area, and did a lot of relaxing. Overall the place itself is exceptional, and beyond that the host was top notch. The house was clean, and everything was conveniently thought out. Oh, and if you cook it also has all of the cooking essentials, including a crockpot and Instapot. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing!!
This is our second time staying at Tom’s house and it was absolutely perfect! He is such a great host and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, fresh fruits and cookies! We even told him we would not be in until late so he went over and turned all the lights on for us to make it easier for us when we got there! Our favorite thing to do is sit out on the porch and read a book! The pups loved walking around the woods. It is also so close to town for groceries! We love this spot and it feels like we are right at home when we are there! We look forward to staying there again next year!

Home in North Vernon, Indiana
This home in North Vernon was such a pleasant place to stay. The host was attentive and responsive. The home was very clean and the host thought of everything. The host provided fruit, essentials in case you forgot anything such as toothbrushes, deodorant and plenty of activities such as a kayak. We all especially enjoyed the massage chair. If we return to Indiana we will want to stay here again. Accommodations were so much better than staying at the only hotel in town. Thank you, Tom for your hospitality.

Quiet Restful Hideaway

Amazing house on river
My friends and I rented this house for a weekend reunion trip and amazed at the setting of the house on the river and all the amenities. The decks overlooking the river are very nice and tranquil. We will be renting this place in future visits to North Vernon and area.

Perfect Getaway Experience!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful cabin. The property is exactly as described, if not better. The cabin was well stocked with everything you need. There was even a basket of supplies in case you forgot something. The fresh baked cookies added a welcoming touch and they were oh so yummy! The cabin was a perfect place to invite friends and family over to "our house" to visit and catch up! We couldn't have found a better place to stay in this small town. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a home away from home feel. I'm looking forward to staying here again when I visit family again next year. Thank you Tom for being such a great host!
