"Online information false/misleading and the property is completely unsuitable for anyone with even minor mobility issues. I was booked for two nights but left after one and went to a motel. - notwithstanding what the website advertises, this cabin does NOT have a bathroom. A bathroom is available in the main house, 50 or so meters away. It is not separate from the host's living space (i.e. not private). "The area itself is very beautiful as is property. Caroline was incredibly helpful and we had a wonderful stay. Watching the alpacas go for their run out the window of our accommodation while getting ready to go to a friends wedding was a delight. "

"We loved our stay at the Rideau River Retreat. It was a great place to use as our home base for Ottawa tourism. We also enjoyed Kemptville itself. Meghan was a great hostess. She was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The handbook for the stay was one of the most complete I’ve seen and very helpful! I highly recommend this lovely spot!"

"This property is in a lovely location with some marvellous outdoor options. It is close enough to Ottawa to be able to experience all the area has to offer yet far enough out to find peaceful relaxation if you prefer. The houseboat is such a unique experience. The host is very helpful and personable. "
