Haus am See is a beautiful couple's get-away (1 couple, 2 couples, or small family) with the best lake views on the street from a first-floor deck and a 2nd-floor master bedroom balcony. Bald eagles launch nearby out over the lake and the water is wildly spectacular.

The home is located in a small lakeside residential community - 4 miles from downtown North East. Private neighborhood lake access is only a few steps away. The home features a large master bedroom (king-sized bed and sitting area), a second small bedroom with 2 twin beds that can also be placed together as a full, a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances and cookware, and upstairs and downstairs full bathrooms.

Visit the many local wineries in minutes, and there is plenty else to do nearby, including antiquing, biking, fishing, golf, hiking, shopping, and enjoying small-town amenities in North East. Have breakfast at Butch’s Diner; grab coffee and snacks at the Bean; walk around Gibson Park and the Main Street Shops; and have a delicious dinner at the Skunk & Goat.

Most areas of Erie are a short 25-minute drive. Catch a show at the Warner theater or a AAA ball game at the UPMC Park. Beautiful Presque Isle State Park and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center are reached in 40 minutes. Visit the Chautauqua Institution and Lake.

You will be about an hour and a half from Buffalo, and under 2 hours to Niagara Falls, Canada; 2 hours 15 minutes from Pittsburgh; and 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.

A wonderful stay on Lake Erie
The property was great for our Thanksgiving get-together. The view of Lake Erie is wonderful, the house is comfortable and well-appointed (with a great kitchen), and our hosts were excellent. In fact, the owner (Ethan) really went above and beyond. We were unexpectedly snowed in by a lake-effect storm, and Ethan reached out to a neighbor who brought us pizza and wine! Just terrific people all the way around. A heartfelt thanks to all. We would definitely return to the Lake House!

Absolute Heaven!
Perfect home to stay right on Lake Erie! The views from both floors are breathtaking and the sounds of the waves were peaceful and calming. It’s a blessing to hang out on the decks to enjoy the sounds and sights of the lake. It was a bit too windy during our stay, but sleeping with the windows open would have been a dream! In the same day we saw a double rainbow in the morning and a gorgeous sunset in the evening! The home is very clean and accommodating, no detail was missed! The decor was wonderful and you can tell the house is well cared for. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay on Lake Erie. Even though you can’t access the water, it’s absolutely worth it! We are very grateful for the chance to stay here!!

Fabulous Stay in Pa!
We just returned from a short getaway (4/3-4/6/24). What an amazing house! The weather was not cooperating; but this place has wonderful decks and the view of Lake Erie is absolutely gorgeous. This property is even better in person! The whole place includes high end appliances, linens and furniture. A beautiful combination of historical charm and modern comforts! A great place to return to after enjoying the wonderful wineries in the area. Thank you Ethan for sharing your home! Would love to return.

Very perfect.
We were very impressed with this property. It was the perfect location to celebrate my wife’s birthday and to have her cousin and her husband stay with us. We never left except to buy some donuts. We sat out on the patio overlooking the lake almost all day. The furnishings and amenities were all top-notch, from the Toto bidet to the ninja coffee maker to the king size adjustable bed looking out over the lake. We even saw the “green flash” of the sun setting, 2 bald eagles landed in a tree 25 feet from us, and the smell of grapes was ever present.

Perfect Getaway Dpot
A truly lovely home in a perfect location for lazing, watching eagles dive for fish, and meandering through vineyard country and the friendly towns of North East and Erie. Ethan and his local mgr were perfect hosts and a snafu with the door code was quickly resolved. The house was spotless, well equipped, and the bed is the best we've ever slept in in over 30 VRBO stays. There are 1-3 steps here and there so mobility- or vision-challenged folks want to be careful. Kitchen is large enough for two to work easily and has everything you could need to prep a meal. Highest recommendation. I'd give the house six stars if I could.

Cute, well-equipped property with terrific view
We'll be back! This was a great place to hang out with local friends. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought in making this a great property. The kitchen is very well equipped and provisioned. We prepared several meals there--my travel knives were unused. The bathrooms are also very well equipped. We really liked the mattress in the master bedroom and also the sitting area. This room can be very bright in the morning so bring a sleep mask if that bothers you. The living room also had a very comfortable sectional sofa that was so nice that my wife wants to buy one for our house. This area and the deck were where we hung out mostly. Overall, highly recommended.

Property is as described but even better in person. Unique architecture, open rooms, nice decor (comfortable/ cozy and updated), great views from multiple rooms. Great deck with seating area overlooking lake. Kitchen fully equipped w/ everything we needed. Very clean. Extra blankets for living room and bedroom which was nice on the cold rainy days. Thoughtful details like containers of qtips and other small toiletries in the bathrooms were really nice. Plenty of paper products. Lots of attention to detail. Master bedroom was absolutely beautiful w/ large vaulted ceiling, sitting area, double closets, comfortable king bed and amazing views of the lake. I woke up one morning to an Eagle sitting in the tree outside. Ethan was great and responsive to any questions we had and Melissa was wonderful too. Thanks for making our stay memorable! Highly recommend.

Amazing Little House & Views!
I don’t have enough good things to say about our stay! This home is lovely with all of the little amenities that you could think of or want. The master bedroom was my favorite room. It’s complete with a fully adjustable bed and the most comfortable pillows and blankets. The mini library and sitting area were perfect for reading or just relaxing. It’s also where are 13-year old son came every evening to just sit and talk with mom and dad. This was the best part of our trip! The views from the balcony overlooking the water were phenomenal. I loved leaving the sliding glass door open and falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the breeze filling the room. The second bedroom is a bit small, but it worked for our two teenagers. Both bathrooms were fully stocked with ample towels, toiletries and extra amenities (bidet, in-shower shaving mirror, hair dryer). We also never ran out of hot water, which was a first for our family of four while traveling. The living room was very comfortable with the giant leather sofa and big screen television with various streaming services at our disposal. The dining room is situated with glass windows/doors on two sides - it was lovely to dine there and look out across the water and hear the surf. As someone who doesn’t always feel safe while traveling, the added security system put my fears at ease. This was a very appreciated feature.

Of course the view is splendid and of course it's well appointed BUT what this listing's online pictures can't show you is the thoughtfully crafted and ultimately cavernous space! Lots of nooks and crannies to privately reflect on some antique curios or hidden gem books while the surf throws mist quite literally spitting distance from the deck/s at an array of huge bay windows as numerous as they were draftless. The master bedroom's wow-ness cannot be understated. Kitchen has all the stuff someone with chef hands or a barista's touch may want. Bathrooms and showers all rocked. Open the calendar, find a date and click reserve. Right now. Just get it. Then i defy you to write a less ebullient review about this spot's incandescent vibe. antuque books abs curios

House on Lake Erie
Excellent and prompt communication with host. Property exactly as described, and very clean. Guest book provided clear instructions regarding the amenities and pre-checkout procedures. Spectacular lake views!
We had a wonderful getaway at this lovely house on the lake! Everything was as described or better. We cooked a couple dinners and found the kitchen had everything we needed. The master bedroom is beautiful with its view of the lake and we appreciated the seasonal decor throughout the house. We spent a lot of time out on the deck enjoying the sound of the waves.
