"Place was just as pictured. Clean. Ideal location. Comfiest beds we had in our 5 week vacation. Staff had limited English, but decent French (and significantly better than my Portuguese), so overall no difficulties communicating with them. They were very responsive on WhatsApp and willing to help with booking excusions, willing to provide information. Very happy with our stay (except for the weather, but can’t control when storms decide to pass by). "

Every morning I enjoyed the coffee and bread that were provided for me as well as fresh milk and fresh orange juice which were also provided in the Villa. "Unexpected little oasis in the city. Very comfortable suite in a beautiful setting with a pool that is lit at night. Easy to check in and leave. Very close to the centre and the major attractions. Parking was very easy as well. Would definitely stay here again. "

"We were greeted by Sandra, she was an excellent host, easy communication and she helped us with places to visit during our stay. The property was amazing with a little farm near by, with chickens, gooses, turkeys … the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The location was near the airport and other view points. Upon arrival we were greeted with a fresh basket of eggs,bread,milk… We will return in the futur!"

"Joao's house is beautiful, with room for 8 people. If you like gardens, you will love this place. The garden is absolutely lovely, with a beautiful view of the coast from one spot. Hot tub, BBQ, all great. Nice location walking distance from 2 good restaurants. Very warm and friendly host."

"Quiet, cozy and equipped with a spectacular view. This home has everything you need for a small family. The living space is shared which I love but might not be for everyone. Highly recommend this stay. Bring some firewood if you go during off-season and prepare to unwind!!"

"Manger of the hotel were helpful when was told we were denial we were SHOCKED but one day we stayed diff. hotel but went back next day. We were disappoints that we tried to canceled house rental they refused cost me 500$ for not using this house . we did tried to cancelled almost a week.Others were helpful and respected each other. Since we are deaf. thank you !!Marika Blumerick"

"We very much enjoyed our time at Casa do Monte. The hosts were fabulous. Was the perfect place for our 3 generation family stay. We would stay here again if we ever return to Sao Miguel."

"The steps from the parking lot to the front door are a challenge, but I’m 70 and I did it. The reward is an experience you will never duplicate anywhere else. The waves crash against the shore 10 feet from your head as you lay in bed. Sounds trite, but you are truly one with nature. There is no one else around. Just you. Both daunting and glorious at the same time."
