She was full and said there no way she would accommodate us despite our reservation having been made nearly 3 months before. The person on the phone was unpleasant. The owners live next door and were on hand for anything we might need, but we didn't see or hear them unless we needed to. They were the perfect hosts. One bedroom off by the pool, for better or worse. Riberac is a quiet but nice town, and the house is near the river, across from a small village with a friendly cafe - closed for part of August.
