"We booked the deluxe bedroom with kitchen for one night. Our stay was wonderful. The bedroom is very spacious, the bed is comfortable and the details in the room are great. Florian and Claire (the owners) have definitely given attention to details. The breakfast was very nice. We had bread, croissants, homemade jam, homemade yogurts, etc. The property is wonderful. There is a small lake and many animals such as goats, pigs, chickens, etc. This place is absolutely wonderful. We wish we had booked for more than one night. We recommend this amazing place. "

"We really enjoyed our week at this property. Our boys loved the pool and spent many hours regardless of the weather. The pool table wasn’t quite as they’d hoped as it didn’t sit flat, but they still played a game or two. We didn’t try the bikes as one had a flat tyre. It’s very rural, surrounded by farmers fields including vines. So peaceful, especially at night. The stars were amazing. Host was great, very easy to communicate with. There was a great house guide including lots of places to visit. If you are looking for a week of peace and quiet with a pool, this is the place for you."

"An absolutely first class hotel and a great stay. The staff were exceptional and especially Benjamin who bent over backwards to welcome us and organise all our special requirements for young children etc. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. "

"This property is amazing. Estelle the host is truly amazing, so helpful. I have booked a few properties all over the world and never had such a helpful host, the others tend to put barriers in place but Estelle couldn’t have tried harder. If you have anyone who struggles getting upstairs just be mindful and maybe don’t put them on the top floor. The bedroom with an open bathroom probably needs walls. The basement area probably need some tlc but that’s being picky. Blaye is cute too, we went to a wine festival which made it even cuter. I would definitely come back. We did a food delivery with carrefour to the chateau (you need a French SIM card) which was handy"

"We stayed for a night. The exterior looks a bit rundown but the apartments are great. Everything works, it’s well equipped and clean. There’s also an elevator which is a major plus. Daily continental breakfast for 11 euros - honestly it’s too expensive for what they serve. You have to bring down your trash upon check out and clean the kitchen if you used it. Overall a nice stay."

"Lovely property and stay"

"We were given a warm friendly welcome from owner Nicolas who showed us around his lovely homely farmhouse. The house looked stunning in the warm Charentes sunshine and is set in magnificent gardens filled with flowers and a fascinating variety of trees including cherry, apple, fig, olive, chestnut etc, etc. The top of the garden has space for games and would be great for kids. Although the house could sleep 10 we were only 3, my husband and I and our adult daughter. Our daughter had the upstairs with a lovely double room and modern fitted shower room and WC. Despite the warm weather even the upstairs was cool and comfortable. We had the downstairs bedroom, ideal for me as I have mobility issues and there is also a lovely shower room with large cubicle and separate WC. Although we had everything we needed downstairs I could still manage the wide stairs to the first floor. Larger parties should note that access to one of the downstairs doubles is through the other bedroom. The lounge has a comfy large leather suite and we really felt at home every evening. There is a large supermarket 10mins drive away and the historic town of Pons is on your doorstep. The Roman town of Saintes is a fantastic place to visit and is 20 mins away. Nicolas lives in Paris but his parents live close by in Berteau and we had their number for any problems. A lovely relaxing place to stay. The yellow cherries fresh from the tree were delicious."
