The Seaglass Villa 1 - Quiet Luxury on the Beach, Andros Island Bahamas

See our 57-5 star reviews! This stunning, bright, beachfront villa is one of two located on this property. If you are a group of 4, please see our sister Villa just steps away called Seaglass Villa 2. Rent both units for a private, 4 person getaway. If you are seeking the ultimate luxury getaway with privacy, and super clean, comfortable accommodation than look no further, Andros Island is the closest island to Nassau and a short 13 minute flight to the San Andros Airport. We can help you coordinate travel to our property so it will be smooth and simple...don't worry about the travel details, we can help! This is one of two private villas on this beautiful beach front property. Enjoy a wonderful vacation for two or bring friends / family along for a group of 4 and book both villas. Plenty of outdoor living space to enjoy while maintaining your own privacy.

Experience your island sanctuary with breathtaking views of the crystal blue ocean and your own private beach house located directly on the beach, beautifully decorated with gorgeous Caribbean furniture, a luxurious king size bed featuring high quality linens, and plush bath towels. There are 2 private beach houses located on this property so you can travel as a couple or as a group. Only steps away from the quaint village of Nicholl's Town, imagine upon your arrival that you are greeted with drinks on ice, smooth island music and some delicious Bahamian dishes prepared especially for you. Sink into complete bliss with an on site professional massage, a cool cocktail with your loved one while sitting in your own private screened in deck or relaxing on a hammock under the majestic Casarinas....your choice, your dream.

You can enjoy TV, a stereo system and free wifi that will get you in the vacation mood while keeping you connected.
Your vacation sanctuary offers complete privacy, beautiful white sand beaches, and crystal clear water surrounding the property as it is on a point, creating the most incredible panoramic views, sun rises and ultimate relaxation. The property is located on 'Nicholl's Town Point' which is on the North East side of Andros Island. The beach heading both north and south of the property are virtually void of any buildings or people however, within walking distance (2 minutes) you will find small food huts and the local watering hole serving native dishes, drinks, and small grocery stores. We believe our point holds one of the most incredible views in the Caribbean where the ocean surrounds you on both the north and east side of the property creating a stunning panoramic view. Andros Island is the perfect holiday to bring your flip flops, sunscreen, and a great book. It is also a great place for self made activity such as going for a run on a cool crisp morning and listening to the roosters crow, meandering around the village by foot or bicycle, taking a long walk on the beach and jumping in the ocean to cool off, snorkling along one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, fish all day -deep sea or bone fish and catch dinner for the night.

LIVING AREA SET UP:
Each unit is a self contained, very clean, open concept design with lots of light. Your beach house has a private bathroom, fully stocked open concept kitchen and living area.

We have a fabulous property manager, Zona, available to ensure your stay goes off without a hitch. Zona and his wife Bernadette are available to prepare a welcome meal of traditional Bahamian fare if desired. Zona can coordinate a beach massage to kick start your vacation, and is also a licenced fishing guide who can take you bonefishing for the day if you wish. Our guests love Zona and we can guarantee he will ensure your stay is a 5/5.

ACTIVITIES:
Andros Island is full of activities to do both in and out of the water. Whether it's fishing for trophy-size fish, exploring ancient ruins, bird-watching, hunting for buried treasure, meandering through quaint coastal towns and villages, shopping for batik fabrics or simply soaking up the tropical sunshine, Andros Island has something for everyone.

BICYCLES:
Bicycles are available with your rental. Tour the areas surrounding Nicholl’s Town. We have maps and suggested itineraries. Or bike a few miles south to an inland blue hole for a fresh water swim.

FISHING:
Book a 1/2 or full day. Andros offers world class Bonefishing, reef fishing, deep sea fishing—you can do it all! You can hire a guide for a day or just cast a line off the point right on your own private beach. Andros is known as the 'Bonefish Capital of the World'.

MASSAGE:
Book an on site massage: a massage therapist will come to you, enjoy a massage on the beach or under a shady tree with a relaxing breeze

DIVING & SNORKELLING:
Andros Island has world renowned diving and fantastic reefs for snorkelling. You can dive during the day, night dives, shark dives, and one-on-one Specialty Dives any time. All of this on the Andros Barrier Reef - the 3rd largest reef system in the world! A day trip by boat can be arranged for a fee plus there is plenty of great snorkelling along the shore.

BIRDING
There are over 200 species of birds that inhabit the Bahamas--and Andros, with its vast undeveloped land, is home to many of them.

HAMMOCKING
One of our favourite activities and can soon be one of yours….

MILES OF UNTOUCHED BEACHES
Anytime is a good time to stroll along the beach. It's perfectly safe, day or night.

COLLECTING SHELLS
Being an undeveloped island, imagine the interesting finds on a leisurely walk down a mile or two of virgin beach, you can find the most beautiful shells, sea urchins, dried coral in multiple colors, and whatever the last storm blew onto shore….

RED BAYS
Basket Weaving A remote village settled by Seminole Indians and Blacks in 1821. The basket-weaving crafts practiced here are detailed and highly advanced.

Red Bays is a very different community on Andros, originally settled by the Seminole Indians from Florida. When the US was putting Indians in reservations, a group decided not to accept that 'good deal', and hopped in their little boats, high-tailing it to Andros Island. The people live in a pretty 'rough' style, and it's fascinating to see.

Andros Blue Holes Below the surface of Andros Island is a complex maze of underwater caves called blue holes. Experienced recreational divers can enter from either the ocean or island entrances and retrace the steps of the famous Jacques Cousteau.

Undeveloped Bahamian Beauty
The location of this property on a beautiful beach is perhaps the best on North Andros. The House is clean and comfortable. The Caretaker (Zona) is very helpful and knowledgeable. Nicholls Town is a beautiful little town with very friendly people and several choices for simple good places to eat and have a drink. There are adequate places nearby to purchase groceries. Our neighbor caught fish and got lobster right off of our beach almost every day. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and will be back.

Great and enjoyable stay at Beach Houses
We had really great time during our stay last week (Dec '15). We stayed in the Beach House with the high ceiling and really liked the beach, the view from the porch and beautiful strolls by the sea. Zona was really there for us all the way - waited for us at the airport, gave us instructions and advice, and finally fed us great dinners. We will definitely try to come back ...

Nice for the price.
Nice for the price. Water pressure was poor for the shower. Tv was hard to operate. Other than that, very comfortable, clean, and your own beach!

Peace & Tranquility
We rented Seaglass Villa 1, which is well-represented in the pictures provided. Our goals of privacy and seclusion, on a beach, in order to completely disconnect for reading and soaking up some sun were completely met at the Seaglass Villa property. Our communication experience with Francine and with Zona were prompt and pleasant. As long as visitors understand that they are renting a private residence on a beach in a rural Bahamian town, they will not be disappointed in this property.

A little oversold. House #1 was nice, it had a great view and access to the beach. It wasn't as private as presented, compound was shared with another party and or the owner. Beach was not exclusively private, locals could use the area. Not all promised amenities were available.

Just what the doctor ordered
I was recovering from an injury and Seaglass vila1 was just perfect. This studio apartment is beautiful and wonderfully appointed. the kitchen is so well equipped. The WIFI was good. We kayaked, walked the big beach next door ( the one in front of the house is small but great for launching the kayaks and sitting and snorkeling off of. And then there is Zona. Zona manages the property but is so much more! We went fishing with him for a day, he brought dinner over for us one night and is a wealth of information about Nicoll's Town (born and raised). He even showed us some of his favorite places. We were there for 6 nights . We rested, we were active and were restored and recovered. Thank you Francine for offering this very special private hideaway

Honeymoon
This property is exactly as pictured! Secluded, remote, romantic place to spend our honeymoon together ❤️Francine is an amazing host communicated with us the entire time upon arrival to departure. The added benefit to this place is Zona our local friend that picked us up from the airport, had our kitchen stocked with provisions we requested, & so much more!! My husband is an avid Fly Fisherman… Zona was our guide for 3 days in the mangroves & flats of this beautiful tropical paradise which made this trip even more spectacular experiencing the beauty & tranquility of Andros. Make sure if you book this villa to read all reviews & also Francine post as it is very quiet & remote if that’s what your after it’s fabulous! We stayed in Villa #1 & loved it! We hope to celebrate future anniversaries there again, making friends with Zona was the best 😎thank you Francine & Zona! CHEERS!🥂

Fantastic trip!
We just spent 8 days on the property and didn’t want to come home. We went with another couple and had both villas. The location could not be better. We had the whole compound to ourselves and it was just amazing. Zona was absolutely fantastic! He is so helpful and he and his wife cooked us an amazing dinner our first night. He also stocked groceries and drinks so we didn’t have to worry about anything after our long trip. He took both couples bone fishing and put us on some great fish. We had a blast. We also fished from the shore at the villas and caught barred Jack there. Zona’s sister owns the Driftwood and the food was amazing. Best pulled pork sandwiches and conch chowder ever. We met some great people in Nicholls Town and rode the villa’s bikes all over town. I’d recommend One for the Road with Marilyn and The Cabin with Nikki. The location is remote and you’re on island time so flexibility is key. The only downside of the trip is the bugs were horrendous. There’s nothing the owner and Zona can do about that and they do provide bug spray. I recommend using it early and often. We felt so welcomed and the people we met were so friendly and kind. We will for sure go back, but we will stay longer next time. Thanks to Zona for making this an amazing trip for us!

Peaceful Gem
Truly a beautiful spot! First, there were some definite uncertainties going into this trip, this isn’t an all inclusive resort. But once you relax into the unknowns & embrace the island life, you will see that everything works out & will be ready to live the simple life. Francine was most helpful & arranged our charter flights from Nassau to Andros. When we arrived in Nassau we got a taxi the short distance to the smaller charter airport. Once there, we felt a little confused by the process but everyone was friendly & kept assuring us our pilot was on the way. After a couple hour wait (remember this is island time) our pilot (Craig) arrived & we loaded up with a few locals into a small, seemingly well worn plane and took off. What started off as a ‘what are we getting into’ quickly dissolved into exhilaration and excitement. The local pilot was skilled & was it was the smoothest & most beautiful flight I’ve had. Be sure to stop at the grocery on your way to the villa even if you aren’t sure what you want. Selection is basic but they have meat, dairy, fruit and veggies. There is a store close to the villa but it has a smaller selection. We ended up cooking most of our own meals as there weren’t many restaurants open during our visit. We did go to the Driftwood owned by Zona’s sister, food was delicious!! The local people speak English but have a heavy accent so you may find yourself asking them to repeat again. Most people were friendly & helpful! Relax & enjoy the beauty:)

Beautiful Location, but Be Prepared!
We just spent a week on Andros in Beach House #2. Our 30th trip to the Bahamas, but our first to Andros. The beach house is in an amazing location, on a point surrounded by calm ocean bays and bath tub warm crystal clear waters. The beach house was smaller than we are used to, but had little porches so close to the water that you could leave your doors open at night to hear the light surf and have your coffee looking at the sunrise over the ocean. The owner provides a lot of information prior to your arrival, but some of it is of great importance for a stress free trip. Be PREPARED to have your flights to and from Andros cancelled and to charter a Cash and Carry Flight! Be PREPARED to take and spend lots of cash...AtM is unreliable. Most stores, etc take cash only, or the Credit Card networks don't work. Unlike most of the VRBO rentals we have done, much of the equipment at the beach house is Cash and Carry...bikes, kayaks, BBQ grill, etc. We biked to the bank in 94 degree heat because we wanted additional cash for tours with Zona that are $200 up and other activities like rental car, etc. The ATM was down, they won't give cash advances on credit cards, and they won't accept a wire transfer unless you have an account with them. The owner will help you out with a pay pal invoice and Zona will pick up the cash for about a 15% fee. Avoid the hassle and embarrassment...bring cash! Be PREPARED to cook for yourself...particularly breakfast and lunch. This is an untouristy island. They are not set up for our eating times or habits. The Tiki huts are open sometimes, but usually not until late in the afternoon. The staff at the Andros Island Resort are great and will try to get and cook whatever you want. The fisherman sometimes go out and have fish and lobster. None went out the week we were there due to rough water. Be PREPARED to be isolated and entertain yourselves!...the island is quiet and the people are lovely and helpful, but if you need nightlife...go to Nassau! Be PREPARED to have a great laid back stay in a place that has some of the best beaches and waters in the world with warm welcoming and proud people. Our thanks to Francine, her family, and her staff for creating this beautiful space for us to enjoy.

So relaxing and peaceful
My husband and I spent two weeks celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a place with beautiful beaches and water that was away from the hustle and bustle of most tourist places...a place to totally get away. Andros Island and the beach houses provided just that for us. The beach in front of the beach houses is separate from the town, so no one else used it. The town beach (Nicholl's Town) is a very long, white sandy beach. There were sometimes kids that swam around the pier, but most of the beach was empty. We spend several hours at the Morgan's Bluff beach (beautiful beach, cove, and calm/clear water) without seeing another soul. Hard to believe that such beautiful beaches are empty. It was great for us though. We spent the first week in Beach House 2. It was okay for two people. We especially loved the new screened porch facing the beach. We ate most meals there. It was very nice, and they plan on adding another porch to it. We spent the next week in Beach House 1. Although we liked #2, we enjoyed #1 much better. It is square in shape (instead of rectangular like #2) with a cathedral ceiling and felt much more open and roomy. The washer and dryer were inside the unit which was very convenient. The hammock was my husband's favorite spot. Leslie took such good care of us. He is a wonderful cook. His meals may seem expensive, but we always ate 2 or 3 days off one meal. We visited Red Bay. If we had just stopped at the first house we saw, I would have been somewhat disappointed. However, we asked someone how to find the Marshall family (like Francine had suggested). The family and their property are amazing. It ended up being one of my favorite things on the island. We also visited the Androsia factory. It was neat, but you will want Leslie to take you in his truck. It is a long drive on a horrible road - not recommended for the little rental cars. Uncle Charlie's blue hole was okay (not much different that swimming holes in our area). The local people in Nicholl's Town are so friendly. We always felt safe. You can ask anyone how to find something, and they will gladly help you. Francine and Rob, we are glad we got to meet you. You are blessed with a beautiful property.

Awesome stay...will return.
My husband and I stayed here for one week in March. The owner Francine and her family were there for our first night and were extremely pleasant. This was the first time my husband and I have ventured off from an "all inclusive" resort type vacation so we had to learn some things. The biggest obstacle is the availability of food. Like I said we have been spoiled by unlimited buffet's and once we adjusted our attitude we did fine. I do not like fish or red meat and this is a paradise for fish lovers, but I knew this coming here so it is not their fault. The dinners that Zona, the property manager, and his wife will cook up for you are awesome and more than enough for two meals. Their chicken and lobster was delicious. A ten minute walk down the beach there is an Andros Resort where we ate several dinners without disappointment. My husband loved their conch. Breakfast and lunch... if you haven't brought your own food with you, was little tougher. There are small grocery stores scattered around Nicolle Town, only minutes down the road but they have a limited stock and we ended up buying a lot of cookies, crackers and some fruit to hold us off till diner. There are huts where locals cook bahamian dishes.. only once did my husband sample a fish type stew and said it was okay. We did enjoy Kalik, a Bohemian beer and bought a bottle of spiced Rum at a liquor store in town. Rum with a little orange juice was quite tasty. The beach houses themselves are on a point giving you awesome views and a beautiful beach steps from your door. We stayed in beach house #1 and it was wonderful. Nicely furnished, very clean, an equipped kitchen and lots of towels to make us happy. My husband ventured out for snorkeling right off the beach and saw a shark, baracuda and turtle along with colorful fish. I was happy sea shell and sea glass hunting on the beach. Because of this I came home with sand fly bites which itched like heck for awhile but it is not enough to detour me from returning. Next time I would be more prepared. We made wonderful friends with the local "potcakes". These are island dogs that adopt you while you are there and appreciate any spare food in return for their unpretentious company. They will walk at distance with you on the beach and guard your stay at night. We absolutely fell in love with them and wanted to bring them home with us. Also the local people were so friendly and obliging. Quick to help answer any questions and share their story. Will return.

Absolutely, the nicest place I’ve stayed while visiting Andros
I cannot say enough good things about this property. The location, the level of comfort, the view and the amenities are absolutely first class. The only thing better than the property, is Zona the property manager, Bernadette his wife, and Francine the property owner. The instant I had a question, or a need, it was taken care of in the friendliest and most efficient way possible. Truly a world-class, wonderful experience. 10 out of 10, five stars, I cannot wait to go back!

Great time
We very much appreciated our stay recently. Quite peaceful and relaxing area. Community is very friendly and always felt very safe. Wish there has been more info provided about local restaurants, groceries, etc. Took us a couple days to figure out where the restaurants, stores etc were and just as long to understand how they operate. Ie restaurants may not be open. Definitely want to call ahead and let them know you want to come and they will open up. All online info was a couple years out of date for things around the community. Loved the villa and the property. Would strongly recommend it.

Paradise
Villa #2wonderful! On the point, you feel as if you’re on an island with water views all around and very close to the house. I was able to watch the sunrise, waves and plovers each day from the two porches. The property is just as described in the listing. Zona was a reliable and attentive presence without being intrusive. We enjoyed the delicious dinners prepared by Bernadette on two occasions. I highly recommend this service. Swimming and snorkeling from the beach were delightful! There was plenty of soft sand under the water with enough clarity to avoid stepping on any exposed limestone. There were only a few sightings of people walking or fishing from the beach during the week we stayed. This is the perfect spot to unwind, relax, and rejuvenate.

Perfectly peaceful easy feeling
Villa Casuarina is an ideal vacation spot. You’ll have that peaceful easy feeling that won’t let you down. Villa One is your very own Bahamian beach front bungalow located on a beautiful sand beach. You’ll have all the independence of a fully outfitted and pristine bungalow. Questions; Zona is somehow always just a friendly call away to arrange a car, take you fishing, take you by the bake shop and butcher or guide you to the best eco sites. We’ve been to Andros several times before and Villa Casuarina was perfect.

Peaceful and quiet
A great location for a private and quiet vacation. We stayed in beach house one which was ample space for two adults and two small kids (8 and 11). Kitchen had everything we needed for meals. Beach was beautiful soft white sand and in solitude. Enjoyed using the kayaks one day for a nice ride over to the beach resort. Zona and his wife made a delicious dinner for us to enjoy. Chicken was full of flavor and veggies and rice were great compliments. Power did go out for short periods of time (30-60 min) a few times during the stay. Zona took us fishing several days and helped arrange a rental car another day to drive the island. Bed was very comfy and porch was great for relaxing away from the bugs (in the event of no wind it can get very buggy at night). Everything was very clean and enjoyable. Perfect place for those looking for a quiet and private vacation to relax and enjoy island time.

Bahama Christmas & Bonefishing trip
Let me first say the Bahamas, the accommodations and the people are amazing. We spent many months planning and prepping for this trip. My husband is an avid fly fisherman and he looked forward to spending several days catching fish in one of the most notable places on earth to bonefish. He bought special equipment, tied flies for weeks, watched videos and read reviews from all the people who came before us raving about the fishing opportunities. Unfortunately, the weather prevented this from happening. Zona took him out for half a day before the rain and wind nixed the excursion but not before he caught one fish. This would be the only day and only fish caught. Disappointing. What wasn't disappointing is the beautiful beach house, the lovely people we met and Zona himself. Zona picked us up at the airport, took us shopping and brought us to the property. There was a little mix up with us being placed in the wrong beach house. Zona brought us dinner and while we ate, he got the beach house #1 cleaned and ready for us so we could unpack and spend the night in the correct bungalow. We were tired, it was late, but it was all taken care of with amazing promptness and efficiency. Mornings, I practiced yoga on the beach while hubby cooked breakfast. We ate in the screened front porch with a stunning ocean view. Nicholl's Town was walking distance, although, nothing was open over the time frame we were visiting. One day Zona hooked us up with a car and we drove around exploring the island. We drove to Androsia and shopped at the Batick Factory. We also took advantage of moments of ok weather by taking bike rides around town and down to Conch Sound. Fun, easy bike ride. Oh, I forgot to mention the roads. All of the roads have been repaved thus making driving and bike riding incredibly easy. We cooked almost all our own meals (Zona brought us dinner the first night and Christmas). The beach house was well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen. Beach house #1 also has a washer/dryer. This came in useful as the intense wind and rain warranted a few loads of laundry to occur. WIFI was solid. We didn't watch TV but there was one in the house. We never at out as there wasn't one single place open in the 9 days we were there. Even with the bad weather and the lack of activities/fishing available, we had a romantic and restful Christmas vacation. Note: Avon Skin so Soft does NOT keep the no-see-ums from biting you. Bring something stronger.

3 Night Getaway
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay, from the welcome meal to the overall tidiness inside and out. Zona welcomed us at the airport and took us to the property, stopping for groceries on the way. The next day I went bonefishing with Zona while my wife read on the beach. And the following day Zona took my wife and I on a boat adventure while I fished and caught us dinner. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice relaxing and quiet trip.

BEYOND PARADISE!
"Our stay was Amazing...we are already planning our return! The location is very private and secluded. As others have mentioned if your looking for a party town, hanging with other vacationers or night life this is Not your spot. If you like peace and quite in paradise, reconnecting with your partner, enjoying your own company or spending your time on private guided world class fishing and snorkeling adventures, playing in the ocean, hunting for sea treasures, if you like taking 3 hour beach excursions without a soul in sight then this might also be your perfect vacation. It must also be mentioned that Zona really made our vacation special. Zona was professional and really just Awesome to work with. I can honestly say without him and his services and never being to Andros we might not have felt the same about the trip as Nicholls Town is more remote than I had imagined. Knowing Zona was there to meet any requests, take us snorkeling, fishing, banking, shopping and sightseeing made for an incredible trip. Just knowing there was someone to check in with and that had an eye out for us just offered that sense of security that put us a total ease. Also to note - Zona and his wife Bernadette created a wonderful authentic fresh island welcome meal for us as well as lunches for excursions. *** Oh and be sure to ask for Bernadette's soon to be famous Bahamian Macaroni & Cheese!!! The beach house was sun filled and beautifully decorated with local art and also very well appointed with plenty of storage, clothes washer and dryer -which was a huge bonus! Wifi worked very well during our stay and I think there is also a stereo and television -but I honestly never looked in the entertainment cabinet...enjoying the sound of the ocean was hard to beat! Zona took us to the grocery store and although very different than shopping home, we were more than able to get plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, dairy and additional pantry items needed in addition to the things we brought from home. I love to cook and had no problem making wonderful meals. Julia was very helpful with any questions we had and in booking our trip :) Thank you Fiddlehead Properties! The Stopinski's
