Stunning Mountain Views with a Secluded Private Pool

Vue Tranquille is a beautifully renovated detached Provençal villa enjoying spectacular views across to the Col-du-Dragon and the Chaine-de-Férion. The villa is situated on a hillside, accessed by a winding road, with a steep driveway down to the entrance. Benefiting from a private pool with a security immersion alarm, it is set on a broad terrace with a lovely olive tree to provide shade and dine al fresco while admiring the spectacular views. There are some steep drops in the grounds and therefore care should be taken with small children. 1km to the hilltop village of La Roquette-sur-Var (pictured) and its 16th-century church with famous Italian paintings. The village is sure to charm you with its beautiful houses dating from the XVI th and XVII thC., its narrow streets and vaulted passageways, pretty drinking fountain, beautiful doorways, and external staircases.

There are a number of walks and mountain biking routes around the village, which allow you to explore the local landscapes, while the less energetic can take part in pétanque games in the village square or immerse themselves in the cordial atmosphere which reigns over the village of La Roquette.

The picturesque old village of Levens 5km for restaurants, shops, tennis and bike hire. If you can tear yourself away from the beautiful scenery, there are beaches at Nice c20 mins, Antibes, Aquasplash and Marineland at Biot, both 40km and skiing at Isola 2000, 70 km.

Lovely stay in Roquette-sur-Var
My family and I spent a lovely week at David's house. It was very very hot during our stay, so the pool was a lifesaver. It was wonderful eating beside the olive tree, rosemary and sage bushes every evening. Many beautiful towns and villages were within about an hour's drive - Eze Village, Menton, Nice, St-Paul-de-Vence, etc. For timid drivers, note that the road up the mountain to the house is a steep, twisty drive - but it gets easier once you're used to it! Beds were comfortable. Bunk room was small - fine for kids but was a bit tight for 2 older teens. Well-stocked, new kitchen.

A lovely relaxing week
We appreciated the quietness of the place, the pretty decoration of the house,the beautiful view, the swimming pool, the location of the house and the very clear and comprehensive information e received. We would have appreciated better mattresses, a plancha or barbecue, a parasol for the terrasse. Overall, we had a great week! Olivier and Laurence

Very well maintained property
We had a wonderful week. The house is reached via a 15 minute serpentine road and is very quiet with a beautiful view. Here you can switch off very well. Well maintained and beautiful pool, which is also very suitable for children. Table tennis, community games and good internet in the house. You notice from the equipment that the owners also use the house itself. Also, you can make good trips in the area. David responds very quickly if you do have a question. Everything is very well organized. We are very happy to come back.

Stunning views!
We have just spent a wonderful week at this property. Stunning views over the mountains and a lovely villa with plenty of space. Each bedroom has a fan so when it gets hot you had some relief. It’s tempting to open all the doors and shutters, don’t! It helps to keep the villa cool. The pool was a blessing in the heat! Warning though to parents of small children, the pool slopes down almost straight away and goes to 1.9m. As a 5ft lady, I couldn’t touch the floor for 2 thirds of the pool. The gardener came by twice on our stay but was gone by 8 am. The pool is only cleaned once and he came at 6 am on the morning we left, so you will need to skim the pool yourself each day as the pool is surrounded by plants and trees. The insect life around the pool was amazing! Butterflies, dragonflies and bees were wonderful to watch! There is however a lot of wasps around which on day one worried us a little but they completely left us alone! All they wanted was a quick drink from the pool and they were gone. Mosquitoes however were rife in the early mornings and in the evenings which meant sitting outside wasn’t an option even when using bug spray and citronella candles. Please bring bite cream and antihistamines. Sunbed cushions are kept in the garage, this isn’t mentioned anywhere and they were quite dusty like they hadn’t been used for awhile. The roads to the property are used as a rally stage! Please take them slowly! They are quite narrow and some are single tracks.

Très jolie vue et bien positionné pour rayonner dans l'arrière pays
Au pied d'un joli petit village perché (La Roquette sur var), très belle vue depuis la villa, bonne communication avec le propriétaire. bon emplacement pour aller vers la côte ou l'arrière pays. Vir les gorges du Cians, qui valent le détour pour leurs paysages semblables au Colorado.

Charmante maison idéale en été
Perdue dans les hauteurs (Alpes Maritimes), cette petite maison est très bien agencée et décorée. La piscine est agréable et les marches idéales pour les petits enfants. Les différentes terrasses permettent aussi de passer du bon temps et d’admirer de beaux couchers de soleil. Il manque quelques parasols et les voisins ne sont pas courtois d’emblée (on s’est fait insulté pour avoir tiré des feux d’artifice, ce qui était complètement faux). Le guide complet de la maison et des allentours est très pratique: on y trouve quantité d’informations utiles. Les plages à une trentaine de minutes reprédentent un plus. Les contacts aisés et sympathiques avec le propriétaire ont été appréciés aussi.

Beautiful Getaway
Die Villa ist recht abgeschieden und so angelegt, dass man sich komplett alleine fühlt. Der Blick über den Pool auf die Berge ist sehr schön und der Garten wunderbar! Dave, der Vermieter, antwortet schnell und ist sehr nett. Das Interieur ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber da wir eh durchgängig im Garten waren, ist das egal. Die Küche ist allerdings für eine Ferienwohnung gut ausgestattet. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner und erholsamer Aufenthalt.

Vue Tranquille lives up to the name.
The villa lived up to all expectations. Well decorated and kept, all the requirements for a home from home holiday. The owners are friendly, helpful and accessible and provide an excellent information pack. As the name suggests, the views are breathtaking and the sense of privacy is great, due to the location (high in the hills) and the layout of the gardens. This also allows a large group of people to have their own space when required. The swimming pool is a much welcomed resource and well used in the hot weather or after a long walk. There are other activities such as Boules, table tennis and board games provided. A car is essential and the road to and from St Martin du Var is steep and twisty and takes some getting used to but it is possible for the able and active to walk to and from the villa on a cycle route which crosses the road 3 times. The villa is in a good location for striking out to Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Antibes etc. But also good for getting to walking routes, gorge walking, cycling etc. We had a fabulous family holiday and the consensus is that we would like to return at some point!

Beautiful House to "Get away from it all!"
My family of 6 stayed very comfortably at Vue Tranquille for 2 weeks this year and had an amazing time. It is a beautiful property, with stunning views from your sunbed and was perfect for our needs - well equipped, very clean and comfortable. Although away from it all (you definitely need a car), the location is within easy reach of Nice and other Cote D'Azur resorts. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommended to our family and friends.
