Room was clean. However, the toilet was separate from the bathroom, with no hand basin. (Room 403.) You had to cross to the shower room to wash your hands. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. We would book this hotel again, though, as it is in a super position. We would just ask to see our room first.

nice position in resort.
hi - the overall stay was good and was mostly due to the assistance, knowledge and support Norbert one of the reception staff gave us - if it was down to scoring him it would have been a 5 star. unfortunately other staff especially the night shift were unhelpful and frankly miserable. the hotel is basic but functional and with a bit of effort could be so much better. we had a fab time in Nice and this hotel is positioned right between old town and new.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel which is ideally situated in the heart of Nice.The recepcionists have always been friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. We will be back for sure!

Guy at front desk was helpful, that's it for the good. It's an older hotel, and not just the look. ac in the room didn't work, room and hallways were dirty, difficult getting in/out of the room. You could hear every bit of noise outside your room.

Perfect stay
Just returned from a one night stay at this central Nice hotel and can’t fault it at all. From the courtesy of the staff to the cleanliness of the room, we had a lovely time and would thoroughly recommend it - especially room 502 with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the gardens and sea beyond.

My wife and I were in Nice for the first time, and were lucky enough to choose the Ambassador. I say that because the helpfulness of the staff made all the difference in making our stay in a new place very comfortable. When we checked in, we asked if the room faced the front or the back. The front desk agent, Norbert, told us that it was a rear facing room, but that he had another room for the same price that had a (side) view of the sea. He gave us the keys to both rooms for us to decide. After looking, we chose the side room with a partial view of the sea. During our 6 day stay we got to know another front desk agent, Paulo. Each of them was very willing to help with directions and suggestions that both allowed us to see all the the places that interested us the most, and to get there quickly and cheaply by bus or tram. Our impression of Norbert was that he has all the qualities of a great concierge, and that Paulo is a refined soft spoken and patient gentleman. We always felt comfortable speaking to them, and asking for advice. The hotel itself is in prime location. We easily walked to the Old City (don't miss the Monday Antique Market that sets up in the area of the Flower Market), and to many other places for restaurants and shops. The building, not modern, is typically French looking with windows that open! It has been renovated, is clean, is one block from the promenade, and has a park right outside. We had a terrific stay, and would go back again.

Amazing location, clean and helpful staff
Really pleased with this booking, it was in a great location, right by old town and on the Promenade. The staff were friendly and helpful about walking around town and what to visit, plus useful tips about where to park our car. The room is clean and the bathroom is very modern. I would say there are two possible improvements, use slightly bigger towels (I hate small bath towels) and have a duvet rather than sheets/blankets. However overall I was very happy with this booking and hotel.

Good location
This is our second stay at The Ambassador. On check-in I requested a room with a balcony as we’d been upgraded last time but sadly this time we weren’t. The room was quiet and the beds clean, although quite hard but could do with some updating although I think the bathrooms may have been updated since our last visit. There is a tv in the room but no English Channel although the room menu stated that there was BBC. This wasn’t a problem for us although it’s quite nice to be able to catch up with the news. There’s also a large tv in the foyer with local news channels on. The security has been made stricter with extra locks on the bedroom doors and a system to hand room keys in on every departure. The reception staff are pleasant although I think the call to our room at precisely 1200 to remind us to check out was slightly unnecessary. As other reviews state, we found Norbert to be the most friendly, helping with a telephone booking to a nearby restaurant for a birthday meal. Breakfast is available at the hotel although we did not eat there as there are many choices locally. We are frequent visitors to Nice and the location is very good, close to all shops, restaurants and set back just one block from the Promenade with only a very short walk to the old town with its flower market, winding streets full of charm and restaurants.

Excellent location
Lovely stay at this hotel. Room clean and comfortable. Toilet and shower room separate and very clean and modern. Great location just off the promenade and public transport, beach, shops, bars and restaurants all close by. Hotel staff really helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our original accommodation wasn't satisfactory so we booked here on the afternoon of. Great location, comfortable and clean room. Only down side was one particular concierge clerk who was always rude and a bit of a pain, all other staff were friendly and helpful.
