It is difficult to put into words a description of this home and the village. Words such as amazing, peaceful, cozy, panoramic views, friendly, caring, hospitality plus, delightful cuisine, come to mind. The apartment or "Cave," as its called, is homey and the interior design makes the visitor feel at home and welcomed. Everything we needed was right there! The owners are terrific people and welcomed us into their garden which is behind the "Cave." Sylvia is truly a great gardener and interior designer. Daniel is always smiling and interested in so many subjects.
The apartment is clean, well appointed and comfortable. The previous reviews describe accurately the apartment and the owners. We liked sitting in the kitchen with the window open enjoying the view and the breeze. We loved sitting on the small terrace enjoying a morning cup of coffee, a glass of wine, a light meal and the fabulous view. The people in town were wonderful, always greeting us with a bon jour or when we were eating on the terrace with a bon appetit!. The hiking trail to the top of the baou is interesting and there was a slackline festival going on, watching the participants walking the highlines was fun.
Within walking distance (3 minutes) the old village of Saint Jeannet has a boulangerie (where you can also buy the local wine), a small boucherie/traiteur where we purchased a couple of light meals, a few restaurants and an ATM. A short drive down the hill there are two more boulangeries and a U-Express grocery store and another Intermarche grocery store a short drive down to La Gaude. (Jim's Iphone slipped out his pocket in the UExpress and when we called it from Nancy's the manager answered, it had been turned in. )
We highly recommend le Cave!
