"Property manager forgot to send code for key safe. Managed to get it indirectly by email but no easy contact was forthcoming thereafter. Street door lock cheap and worn. "Flat is comfy, clean and well equipped. Wonderful view of the sea from the balcony and 2 minutes to the beach where you can walk all the way to Bamburgh at low tide. Just a few minutes to all the amenities of seahouses but the location itself is quiet and peaceful."

"Spotlessly clean, very spacious apartment, design decor very good . Tiny things to mention - property is actually called “ Wagonway” not “ Old Workhouse “ so can confuse when locating it . Would be good if enough dishwasher tabs were supplied - as a say tiny things"

"Beautiful apartment in lovely, historic building. Extremely tasteful furnishings with fantastic mullioned windows. Very scenic spot with gorgeous views and a very pretty town- Rothbury. Super walks from the house and only 25 minutes from very sandy Alnmouth beach. Our dog loved it all and we, as well as him, were made to feel very welcome by the owner in our communication. "

Host & Stay | The Watchtower

10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"This property is just as described. It has great views over the birding sanctuary. While it is a bit out of town, it is close enough to explore this coast easily and have a quiet place to relax in between excursions. There is a lift to the first floor where the apartment is and there are stairs inside the apartment to the living and kitchen area. The small bathroom has a shower and the larger bathroom has a tub. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it to others."

Cosy seaside apartment

"Flat was in an excellent location for us being just across the road from a lovely dog friendly beach with a cafe that did fabulous breakfasts. We were very happy with our stay and the owner was easy to communicate with. However I will mention that the outside area is very scruffy and bins were overflowing with lots of bottles on the floor. The flat itself was clean and tidy although inside bin hadn’t been properly emptied from previous tenants. Mattress on double bed could probably do with...

Host & Stay | The Burrow

"Could be a great property if some money was spent on maintenance. It’s in a central location right next to the castle and shops. However, the carpets are stained and need replacing or cleaning. The curtains are falling off the rails. The sofa cushions smell like a dog slept on them. There is also a really noisy outdoor bar next door which plays loud music all day and evening at the weekends. I think the bar has opened since we made the booking in March so we weren’t aware how loud it would...

Host & Stay | Highfield

9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (9)
"On approaching the village using the postcode - and also the location link on your house details- took us quite the wrong direction and it took us about 30 minutes to find it - only after asking locals and at the pub. The description “ opposite the red gravel path” was not accurate - in fact it was “ at the red gravel path”. Perhaps a small map would be useful? Our first impressions of the house were a little disappointing. We felt that some aspects had clearly been either been ignored or...

The Garden Rooms

4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (152)
"The overall experience at the Garden Rooms was good. We would return, though there were a few things which disappointed us. The large sliding doors to the outside were very difficult to open. We are not feeble but it was almost impossible to slide due to being very heavy and stiff. The room itself smelt very strong of wood smoke from the chimnea, we did not use it during our stay. Also, the couch was extremely stained, i assume from people sitting on it when wet after using the hottub. It...
