"Wonderful pub and accommodation. The people are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. This 16th century public house still supports many original features making its atmosphere charming. The room was fairly small, a double bed and the small wardrobe made it tight to get to the bathroom but it was very clean and comfortable. Street Parking is available in front of the pub for free but only from 6pm till 9am so you need to move the car at 9am. The food was good but pricier than either of the 2 public houses within staggering distance. Breakfast was well presented and good choices. The church across the road is beautiful inside, well worth a look. "

"Really lovely country pub in Bovey Tracey, just within Dartmoor National Park. Friendly staff and the food is delicious. We brought our dog with us too and they were very friendly and accommodating to her and us. The room was huge and bed very comfortable. Excellent value for money."

"There were 17 of us staying and it was perfect for us all. Plenty of space, comfortable accommodation, fantastic facilities, beautiful views. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. There were a couple of issues with door handles. One fell off all the time and one was impossible to lock. But, apart from that, it was perfect."

"We very much enjoyed our short stay at Acorn Cottage. It is a welcoming and homely place, perfectly equipped and with friendly hosts. The accommodation itself was spotless and comfortable. The lounge is spacious and has a quality woodburner, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the bedroom is airy and quiet. Excellent.I have come to realise that, for me, the best holiday accommodation has good walks available from the front door; the walks at Acorn Cottage were first rate. We parked our car when we arrived, and we drove off in it when we left; otherwise it sat on its little space and kept itself to itself. We walked the local hills and we were able to join the Coastal Path, which makes Shaldon and Maidencombe easily accessible. Well, the climbs and descents are not that easy, to be fair! The village has a well-stocked shop and a fine pub. It is a very tranquil and peaceful village, untroubled by traffic or haste."
