The Gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He ended up being there in the evening when we checked in, and when we got up for breakfast and when we left. There is not much of the original jail left. A few random cell doors. But some cool historical framed photos from the area. The breakfast room had some great offerings. Plenty of tables, but during our stay it was full of people. But our room was so close being that it’s a seemingly small hotel that we could eat it in our room. A desk an two chairs and side table were sufficient for us. They had great offerings like peeled hard boiled eggs, fresh strawberries and blueberries. A hot oatmeal bar with toppings, nice breads and bagels as well as juice, coffee, hot chocolate etc. My daughter loved the themed pumpkins out front and said it was her favorite hotel out of the 6 or so we stayed at on the trip. The M&M automatic dispenser in the lobby probably helped!

PERFECT location, we didn’t use our car once during our three day stay! Highly recommend this hotel. Staff were great and rooms were nice. Only suggestion is to provide more shelving and a towel rack in room. Otherwise just perfect!

It was warm, cozy and charming. Great location with safe parking. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. When we travel again to Newport we'll stay there for sure.

Zero housekeeping. Asked for towels two out of four nights. They never showed up. One clerk was rude. She said "we aren't allowed to go into the rooms". Really? Do you not clean them and change the towels when I leave. Breakfast mediocre. Property old and furniture scratched and old. A low three star property. Take it from someone that travels 100 to 150 nights a year. For over 30 years.

Charming place in a great location!
Enjoyed a two night stay with my husband and son. excellent location within walking distance of so many great restaurants and shops in the beautiful Newport area. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was delicious and the warm cookies in the afternoon were a treat! We will be back for sure.
