Chehalem Mountain Wine Cottage With Sweeping Views Of Wine Country

Hawks Haven Wine Cottage is located on a 6.8 acre, beautifully landscaped estate. The Cottage has been newly remodeled and updated. You will enjoy one of the most beautiful views that the area has to offer. Driving to the local wineries is very picturesque and many of the most popular wineries are within 20 minutes drive on well maintained back country roads. From our deck you can see sweeping views of the wineries and vineyards below such as Adelsheim, Tesori, Bergstrom, Arborbrook and Dundee hill just to mention a few. Our guests enjoy the relaxing water feature that is nestled into a private rock patio and the country quite setting is a perfect getaway from the busy city life. There is an aerial (drone) video for you to enjoy just by clicking on the video camera icon on the main photo next to the map icon. Hawks Haven is ideal for couples, small families or for 2 couples who are visiting Oregon Wine Country and many of the beautiful attractions close by.

This is the second time we have stayed on this beautiful property. Great place to stay to be 30 minutes from many Willamette wineries. I know we will be back for a third trip and more! One of our favorite places!

This is an outstanding property- very clean and well equipped and nicely appointed for a small group or a couple. The views from the home and patio are sweeping and the proximity to the wine country is ideal. The hosts are warm and easy to communicate with and timely in response to questions. Really nice, super clean house with spectacular views and beautiful landscaping. Very relaxing to sit by the firepit and watch the sunset. One of the nicest VRBOs we've stayed at. The go to spot for visits to the wine country.

Dan’s place is a haven above the valley. Very peaceful and quiet. While the finishes are older they have been well maintained and clean. The fireplace was amazing and we got a hoot out of the DVD collection. Would definitely stay again!

Spectacular spot
Hawks Haven wine cottage was everything and more for our first visit to Oregon wine country. Sweeping vistas, comfortable beds and furniture inside and out, all the kitchen things, great bath towels, and terrific hosts. Dan and Laurie had excellent suggestions for us and we’re so nice and gracious. This is a special spot that we didn’t want to leave!

Stairway to Heaven
The property is located near the summit of Bald Peak not far from Newberg, Oregon. The view is spectacular. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped with everything one needs. The hosts are terrific people as well and generous with their time. I highly recommend the place and we plan to return.

Perfect location for exploring the Wine Country
Perfect location above the valley with easy access to wineries! The hosts are gracious and the house very clean and comfortable. A five star experience. My only concern: the master is open to the rest of the house (walls don’t go to the ceiling) and the master bath has no door so you share the experience with everyone else...awkward. I would hope they might enclose the room and add a door. But even then, a great rental experience.

Absolutely Beautiful
Amazing views even in the winter. Great location, close to all the wineries. Would love to come back and enjoy the patio in the summer time. The cottage was decorated nicely and very comfortable. It was a bit awkward for us as it was the first time traveling with another couple and the master bedroom is not completely closed off, the wall doesn't go all the way to the ceiling to separate the living from the master bedroom, and the master bathroom doesn't have a door on it. We would have no problem renting this place again, just not with others.

Absolutely Stunning!!
Where do I begin......upon arrival we were all blown away by the views, the property, and this lovely cottage. The cottage is well maintained, clean, I felt like I was walking into my home when we arrived. Every detail is thought out, and there is nothing you could not find in the kitchen with regards to utensils, cookware etc. I travel and rent places often, and I have never seen one like this. Newberg was perfect for our girls getaway, and I can't wait to come back in the future. I had a couple pics of our last night I wanted to attach for Dan and Laurie but I see that is not an option. Thank you again for a lovely week, was wonderful meeting you both!

Views are spectacular
We loved this place. Visited the valley with another couple and this place was near perfect. Kitchen (and house) were well equipped with everything we needed. Weather was not the greatest so we just spent a lot of time hanging out and this place was great for that. Host was responsive and helpful. Views when it was clear were so great snd sitting out by fire pit watching sunset … magical. The only downside which was mentioned before in other reviews (and which we were aware of) was that the walls to master bedroom do not go to ceiling. Cool aesthetic but the shape of ceiling seeming to amplify sound from that bed room/ bathroom out to the living room. Certainly not a dealbreaker but good to be aware of so that expectations are realistic regarding plans for “together time”.

Very lovely part of town! High up with great views. downside was it took much longer to get everywhere. House great for a couple! Master bedroom and bath open to main room. Would be hard for two couple's to share as there is very little privacy. Would be ok for young children with parents. We enjoyed it and were very comfortable. Only complaint was the smell of bug spray. When we first arrived we opened the windows and left for 3 hours hoping it would dissipate but it did not. We only saw a few bugs so that was good but it had been sprayed very heavily just before our arrival and it never went away the whole time. We enjoyed using the washer/dryer as we had been in Canada the two weeks before we arrived here and needed to wash. It is a very cozy place for a couple and we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we were alone. Too close quarters for another couple. Very open plan where you can hear everything in all rooms...
